I'm digging the soundtrack right now. Many tracks are surprisingly (too) long, being over 3 or 4 minutes. They mostly build up the first half and then the tone changes the other, that's where I think they could have just cut some tracks in half and leave the first out.

Merry no Kunou and Melancholy really bring out the dream~ish tranquility that is the usual atmosphere. My other two favs would be Iza! Muma you!!(really reminds me of FFVII AC tracks at some part and The Battle which are (unexpectedly given what we heard so far) crazily hyper.

I'm not really into the rest but they aren't too shabby, it really gives you Disney vibes that make the series more dream~ish and idyllic.

Omg, I thought I was alone in this world when I said that I loved the BGM! It reminds me of the celtic themes the .hack// franchise had. Though it may not be as epic as the .hack// soundtrack, at least it's original!

I agree that some of the tracks were much longer than they should have and I'm especially bummed that the one track i wanted to hear was left out =(. That peaceful tune with the whistling that played here and there in the early episodes was supposed to be the highlight of the soundtrack for me, dammit!

Quick question, did the anime deviate significantly from the manga during and after the beach episode? In these last three episodes storytelling and characterization feel different.

In any case, background music and art are not only top notch, but blend well together, as well as character designs. One of the few shows that remains consistent in these respects, while keeping up a high standard... I guess at the expense of animation, and probably writing.

The mangaka must really love bitchslapping, it's the second time it is used as a finishing move

The opposing characters are rather messed up, a depraved teacher and a psychotic dream demon? No backstories to tell, they're just evil but get along with each other :P Story-wise, the pace is slow, I was expecting more than just a declaration of battle at the end;after all, they had said they'd kill Palette that day, and they ended up letting her live

Anyhow, still looking forward to the next episode, even if it's slow it's always fun to watch.

That's the reason I suspect a deviation during the last episodes, these were not dominant during the first two thirds of the anime, where the writers had the manga to adapt.

Unusual usage of soundtracks results in diverse opinions. Makes you even more relieved when you find someone who also likes it compared to the opposite half of people that think otherwise.

Hmm, Character Songs for Engi and Yui are out. I'm only interested in Yui but I feel like wanting both anyway because they're like one entity... hard choice.

Very much so, yes. The beach episode was changed quite a bit from the manga, and the following ordeal with the clown was also changed to some degree. We're now in completely anime-original territory.

I agree the opening was quite...interesting, seeing that Sensei was already a sadist himself, in which his personality matched perfectly with Treesea. Well, everything seems fine in the real world. Isana is still her merry self. Nothing bad happened. Isana is sent to Yui's dream world an is knocked unconscious. The good news is that the dream demon seems to be an okay kid, Plate? In any case, it looks like he does not mean any harm for now. Still, it should have been possible to send him back, but now both Merry and Yumeji are not confident about it. It is okay to safe, I guess, but there are a dedcent amount of evidence to back up that she can do such things. Either it is ignored, or something else happened that is unclear, unless that clown dude really screwed up their minds with his words. Back in school, Sensei and Chizuru have their chat; both are curios as to who Yumeji really his and what his abilities are. Like Leon said, the primary thing he is concerned about is his revenge against Mistleten. I wonder how that is going to affect her.

Isana is granted permission to paint something in the art room. Rather than leaving (smart move), Yumeji decides to be on standby with Merry in case something happens. Sure enough, Sensei is on the attack. Mistleten should have just wiped Plate out right there instead of playing around with her?, since she clearly had more than enough time to do so. Insead, she takes her dandy time, and Yumeji and Merry appear to save the day. Problem was that both Merry and Yumeji were quickly and equally wiped out by Mistleten and Sensei. Of course, Sensei as Mistleten's vessel was a surprise for Yumeji. More shock comes, and Chizuru isn't the sort of good girl that he thinks she was, only peering from behind and watching their deaths from afar. After all that is said and done, Mistleten finally decides to wipe both of them out, but the power of friendship comes along, and Chizuru stands in the wa for Mistleten to deliver a finishing blow. Instead of another right, Both Mistletena and Sensei let them go, for now. Sensei promises to wipe both of them out in the next fight. I agree that the fight scene was quite quick an rushed. Hopefully, it will clear up by the time the next and final episode come along.

I was just interested in the soundtrack for Guricchou's theme. And that delivered all I needed and beyond. Plus, it was sung by Naoto Fuuga, the singer of Megaranger's theme.

Midonin Last Engage Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Florida	Spoiler for Yumekui Merry 12 - If a Body Catch a Body: Team Merry is certainly taking a risk there, getting Iijima into a spot where they have him surrounded. But, even then, he has the advantage. I also like that the show's still showing scenes in Yumeji and Isana's school life, even if that school life is peppered with the constant threat of Iijima. The fight scene, once again, fit the show's dreamlike style. Tense, but also almost poetic. Speaking of poetry, the idea of Yumeji picking up Engi's sword to fight, the very sword that has once injured him - I like the circular nature of that. So, the finale is next week, with fur de Libe occupying IS's slot. Should make a nice transitional week before the new season kicks off on TBS.

Mystletainn is too overpowered. Not a good sign. It's cool but I don't expect an epic cool fight anymore. They'll either win through some unique trick or skill or the fight simply stops because of whatever reason they'll provide. At least show that key move by Merry again. I'm a bit "waahhhh" because things just started to get exciting, though the episode preview seems a bit too obvious and normal. __________________

I was wondering how they would end the story in one more episode after that retreat in the last episode, but it turns out there is still one more episode left! No wonder... Spoiler for ep 12: I'll repeat what I said before, but wouldn't it be clever if, instead of trying to kill Mistilteinn(did I spell that right?), they target her vessel? I mean, why even worry about that douche of a chick when you could just get Merry to pound the crap out of IIjima? It would be funny if they had a scene where Fujiwara points the gun at Mistilteinn but then shoots IIjima in the face. Problem solved. I found episode 12 unique because its fight scenes weren't nearly as confusing as they were before. We also got to see a bit more of Merry, but these past few episodes she was more of a side character. Also, I found a little bit of... QUALITY:
