I don't need to predict the winner to know the end result is going to fail. Left with 1top 10,(who won't win) 2other decent character(not winning) and all the rest suck.

Yes, yes, I know - IMO.

Do these characters ever act seriously or intelligently in their shows though?

I understand that they have characters act that way to try and trigger a protective response in the viewer, however that sort of behavior shouldn't really be displayed by an individual of their age. Of course they're cartoon characters and we shouldn't take it seriously, but that doesn't mean I can't hold an opinion on them.

Actually no, moe-blobs do not win, from what I recall, it's rare for moe-blobs to cross into the quarter finals, judging from previous results.

Or were we talking about something else?

Mine was in response to Eryops.

But I do agree on the most part that loli and tsundere generally fare better than anything else.
Though this year's results are a bit different from previous ones.

EDIT: Am I first to notice that it says Isuragi on the chart?

Majority of character getting into the quarters and above being loli and/or tsundere. Yes, that was my point.

We already know that non-loli and non-tsundere have a slim chance of actually getting near the finals. The previous years' results speak for themselves. That means that most of the other character types supported by other people will eventually be defeated long before they even get close to the finals. The percentages are pretty obvious about what kind of characters make it near the finals. The loli, the tsundere and their combo. The rest are fodder. And do check how many times LOLIS win Saimoe.
Well, the characters from most shows already fall under these two categories so it's not surprising to see them very well-represented in Saimoe. In addition, I feel like those are two very general and widespread moes that people have, which makes sense why they get so far.

And the majority of the remaining characters in the block finals aren't lolis or tsunderes.

Previous years in j-moe... loli (they make the otaku world go round) > tsundere (it's not called the otaku's kryptonite by many) > everything else. Of course, being both scores high lol.

This year? It's the same as in almost every other tourney... Kyo-ani > all.

Yes... Well, the problem is I already gave you a list of the Saimoe results clearly depicting a loli/tsundere domination. Your argument is kinda hard to verify cause you'd have to supply a list with characters along with their character type. However I'll be nice and just wish for a list of the series represented in Saimoe and whether most characters are indeed loli or tsundere. For example, some of the current series that I CAN say about:

Clannad, 2 lolis out of a big cast of girls. Just one tsundere out of the whole cast of girls. Nope, not well represented at all. Next,

ToLoveRU. Loli = 1. At BEST 30% if we take only the main girls into account, otherwise it's even lower from what I recall. Tsundere? None I can think of.

Sketchbook? Tsundere? Where? Loli? Sure you can pull and stretch and give loli qualities to every girl, but you know... They aren't lolis at all.

Bamboo. If we don't count Tama as loli, then none. Otherwise JUST 1 out of 5. Tsundere. Where again?

Shana Second. 2 lolis out of 6 girls? Or were they more? 30%. Tsundere? Just Shana I believe, out of 6.

Nanoha StrikerS. Caro, Vivio, Lutecia, Rein Zwei, Vita and I think one or two from the enemy camp? 8 out of... Let's see... 25 girls or around there? Still 30%. Tsundere? Can't think of many besides, say Teana.

Oh wait... Didn't Geass take part in Saimoe? So there were... 3 (no, 4, sorry) lolis out of a pretty big female cast? And I can't seem to pinpoint the tsundere that well there.

So, can someone else fill for whatever series took part in this Saimoe, mostly about the ones that have progressed this far, or am I going to assume that THIS was the well-represented loli/tsundere type?

Yes, it's her family name. People got it right... no need to worry about it.

Isuragi - Wrong
Isurugi - Right

Aya Reiko did not ever fix Louise's misspelling last year by the way.

I was thinking more main or popular characters of each series than all of the characters. Of course in each show, majority of the characters are not loli or tsundere, but the main ones usually are.

Yes, I can see clearly from the previous Saimoe results that there is a loli/tsundere domination, however, currently in the block finals, there are far less lolis or tsunderes than last year, which means it may be different this year.

Let's take a look at last year:

Shana - tsundere loli
Nagi - tsundere loli
Konata - loli in the way that she is drawn
Konoka - neither
Nanoha - loli depending on which series
Vita - tsundere loli
Yuno - loli
Rena - neither
Shinku - neither
Ayumu - neither
Suiseiseki - tsundere
Tsukasa - loli
Sayuri - neither
Rika - loli
Suigintou - tsundere
Louise - tsunder loli

And this year:

Fuuko - loli
Hanyuu - loli
Kirino - neither
Mikan - neither
Kagami - tsundere loli
Kyou - tsundere
Tomoyo - neither
Miyako - neither
Shana - tsundere loli
Tamaki - neither
Nagisa - neither
Hayate - neither
Akari - neither
Tsukasa - loli
Noe - neither
Hinagiku - neither

Far less tsundere/lolis this year than last.

Tamaki more loli than Kagami. Yes.
Hinagiku? Neither? :|

I know why far less loli/tsundere than last year though. One thing is "superior" to both combined. Kyoani.
