Not long till it gets cancelled now anime is over and it flopped huge, the manga is bottom 3 for last 6 weeks and it's the lowest seller of all the manga in WSJ that's over 18 months old.

WSJ has to clear out the dead wood to give more new manga a chance afterall.

Hear, hear! I can never predict where it's going next, which does sometimes bug me, but by and large it's an awesome ride! My desktop background has been different Medaka Box images for about a solid year now!

Eh, even if it's canceled right now the grace period would give enough time to have a half-decent ending. Unlike before, there are no mysterious "man behind the man" enemies left, and of course Fukurou just died too. All they have to do is stop Iihiko (shouldn't be a problem is they can get him to listen to Nienami), have a final contest between Medaka and Kumagawa (probably something silly like rock paper scissors), and then go for a "they lived happily ever after" ending. Honestly, I could see it ending within 3 chapters. It would feel a bit rushed, sure, but nothing terrible.

As for continuing with novels, it would probably just go for more side stories like Good Loser Kumagawa.

It was recently just mentioned, but yeah, if Fukurou has all of the styles, shouldn't he also have Kakegae's?
Meaning, he probably isn't finished yet. It would explain him "getting killed" by the Ge'Hyoukai.

You really have to love how Medaka Box characters double as caricatures of particular human idiosyncrasies. I'm going to be a bit sad to see the old guy go, but you know how Nisio does his stuff... He goes for a huge build-up and then swerves at the last minute. Just another day for him, I guess.

It's sad to see Fukurou go, right when I noticed just how similar he was to Zenkichi. Both of them happened to fall in love with someone way beyond their league. However, while Zenkichi chose to become a stronger person, Fukurou simply gave up in favor of finding a more convenient, yet inferior, substitute in her place. Twisted he may be as a person, but his motives were ultimately very human. It might not even be all that unusual to seen Zen following in his footsteps in a hypothetical bad ending.

Last Carpet Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2010	Spoiler for ch177: I'm still wondering who Kamome's mother is. I liked this chapter, if for no other reason to see what Kamome's Style is. We've had Kanji Misconversion Label Nursery Rhyme Eight Hundred Lies Contradictory Conjunction And now Provocation And now we see the flaw in Styles, they don't work on people who are angry. Which makes sense considering that people usually don't listen when they're mad. So since Fukurou went through life making compromises, he doesn't know what it means to be angry. Yeesh...Wonder how things will play out with IIhiko now
