Since people mention it, I start see some similarity with Amagami. Maede carries adult magazine as Junichi.
So far, Nanoka story has the closest resemblance to Amagami. They confess to each other. Unlike other episode, Maeda makes feeling clear. In other episodes, Maeda only shows his passion for girls' photography.

The show has its own flavor. Mai blackmails Maeda. The cosplay girl stalks Meda all the time. Then, she disappears as a ghost. Maybe the school is haunted.

Bwhahaha, this time it was Kazuya's turn to get blackmailed. I enjoyed this. Mai was very cute, but her arc was rather boring and rushed. This could have been a lot better.

The arcs have largely been rushed, and I didn't feel any boredom watching the cutest or second-cutest heroine in the show (depending on whether forbidden heroines count). I liked the look on Kanon's face after coming into her brother's room. I wonder what sort of face/reaction she would've made if she'd come in four, maybe five minutes later. Episode 10 was enjoyable for me. I'm biased since I like Mai and I know the whole story on her route from the game so the adaptation even though didn't meet my expectation but I still enjoy it as it is.

At this point I won't bothered by complaining how rushed it is because you just can't simply make the hours worth of just one main story, let alone both version of stories, fit in 20 minutes of one episode anime, so it's definitely rushed and unnatural. But to be fair even on the game Mai is already like (or at least act sweet and all dere) to Kazuya when they first met and Mai learnt Kazuya is her best friend's older brother.

My biggest complaints are probably when Mai came to Kazuya's class for the second time to inform him she's accepted as substitute member for the competition. That scene doesn't have any impact since we didn't get Kazuya's reaction unlike on the game. That particular scene was quite cute in the game.

This was from Mai story L, not from story H the anime mostly cover because on Mai story H she didn't get selected.

Kazuya is about to come home and when he comes out of his class, he bumps Mai whom about to enters the class to find him.

"Senp-ouch ouch~"
"M-Mai-chan? I'm sorry, are you hurt?"
"Senfhaai~ I'm fhine... Uuuh, now my pug nose will become even shorter"
"I don't think Mai-chan's nose is that short."
"Do you mean it?"
"Yeah. It's perfect, it resembles Mai-chan's height."
"Doesn't that mean I'm short and have pug nose in the end?"
"Right."
"Senpai, you meanie!!!"

Mai then hitting Kazuya's lightly.

"Ahahaha..... So, were you looking for me just now?"
"Oh yeah, I was wondering if Senpai is still here. Can we go home together? I have something I want to tell you."
"Okay, let's go."

In their way home, on the riverside.

"So, what are you going to tell me about Mai-chan?"
"Ehehe, don't be surprised, okay Senpai? I'm chosen as the substitute on the fall competition!!"
"Oh, congratulations Mai-chan!!"
"Thank you, ehehe. I may won't get chance to perform, but this way I can cheer on my team. It's because Senpai's word that make me realize I should be more confident of myself and find my own beauty. I want to tell Senpai this news first."
"Mai-chan... Then, do you want to eat something like parfait? I'll treat you anything as a reward."
"Senpai..."
"Ah, you're on a diet, aren't you. But it will be fine if it's just this one time."
"Senpai, thank you. But I don't think anything. Just being with Senpai like this, it already make me filled with warmth."
"Mai-chan..."
"Ah Senpai, look below. Our shadow is so long!"
"You're right. But Mai-chan's doesn't seems too different with your height."
"Mmuu, in the end you're saying I'm short again. Meanie~"
"Ahahaha..."

Mai then jumps forward, making her shadow overcomes Kazuya's.

"I beat Senpai's shadow now."
"Ahahaha..."

She then jumps again, now to Kazuya's side, and hugs him.

"Senpai, got you."
"Ah..."

"Senpai... On the second thought, I do want my rewards... Can you... Kiss me?"
"Mai-chan..."
"Please... Can you give me my reward kiss."
"Are you fine with me?"
"Of course. I want my first kiss to be something I will always remember."

After that they kiss, and Kazuya invites Mai to see his picture on the Photo Club showcase on the school festival. Days later after school festival end, Kazuya confesses to Mai.

So yeah, Mai is one of the rare case on the game where she get more than one kiss scene outside the obligatory kiss scene on the confession part.

But I like the clips of their date scene, it's enough for me to show that they spend their time together a lot and slightly make up of how they develop romantic feeling toward each other. I also like how starting Aki arc they give the heroines narration on their epilogue, to let us viewers know what happen on the "time skip" and/or their point of view towards their new relationship with Kazuya. I suspect on Hikari arc (and probably Haruka's, I kinda forgot) they messed up the editing or something because there following the date scenes it was just ED theme's instrument, where it should be better if Hikari narrates the epilogue part as well, like on the game where she tell that she was happy she got into photography so she could meet Kazuya and starts believing in people's smile once again, plus that she becomes new Photo Club leader after Katsumi graduates, and last that she doesn't only like Kazuya's smile but Kazuya himself as well

Next episode is Rina, and when you consider just how VERY little we saw of her and lack of any real interaction between her and Kazuya before, even in the first four episodes, aside from the cliche accidental breast groping and all, I really don't have high hopes for the episode aside from breast/apron fan-service. The anime cut even the confession scene, but on the game each girls also confess that they love Kazuya after what he did to them (eg. making Hikari starts believing on people's smile, giving Aki courage to continue her dream both as doctor and enjoy diving, etc).

The similarity is quite a lot actually, at least for what I've seen.
- Hikari really resemble Ai, with both a kuudere-type of character, junior, and have short hair style.
- Aki and Tsukasa as the top student and both have other face they didn't show to anyone else.
- Nonoka and Kaoru both genki type girls and MC's BFF during middle school.
- Mai and Sae both the innocent and pure junior type. Although how Mai failed at her club also resembles Ai's arc.

Kanon part at that scene is little bit off. From how she talked it sounds like she teased Kazuya and Mai but how she looked she kinda like angry/mad. But it wasn't the first time the animation's facial expression of character and VA's tone of voice didn't match each other so it doesn't bother me too much

Yuuko (and Ruu) kinda have.

It didn't played out like the other routes where player had to fill the icon gameplay-wise before getting into their next main story event by talking or showing girls their picture you took. Instead, you just had to go to the club room location twice every week to get the flags and then on Sunday if you don't have date promise with the main heroine you will get a part of main story of Yuuko or Ruu (depend on which club you chose).

Get all 6(or was it 7, kinda forgot) parts of their main story, and if by the end of 2 months deadline you haven't maxed any girls's affection, then you'll get their ending.

OK. Maybe I failed to see the similarity. Character wise, I find Photokano girl has more "similarity" to Kimikiss. Those similarity maybe the archtype of gal game or dating game.

Nonoka has is more similar to Sakino Asuka. They both have boy's adventure attitude, yet retain the fragile heart of a girl. I feel relaxing when she is interacting with Kazuya. Kaoru is adorable, but she would rather answer Junichi with her fist.
Haruka is more similar to Hoshino Yūmi. Both Yumi and Tsukasa like to read the book, but Haruka and Yumi have same open mind attitude. The difference is Haruka is more athletic than she appeared.

The similarity and difference are more apparent in the epilogue. It appears girls have happy and successful ending in Photokano and Kimikiss. In Amagami, girls are more successful if they are not with Junichi. Ai makes the cut in the swimming team and achieve something in the swimming competition.

Although Yumi was a heroine per textbook, Yumi was too plain for the viewers. They call her as plain girl(地味子). It's probably why Enterbrain added the rebellious factor in Tuskasa. The voice actress of Tsukasa recalled her recording experience by saying: Is she really heroine? Is it really about dating game?

Also, Kami no Shizuku shows tasting wine can reach ecstasy. Chūka Ichiban! shows tasting food can cause head spin and seeing mirages.

The scenes may suggest they want to eat each other(not the cannibal eat). Mai sees Kazuya's arm as chicken leg, and Kazuya sees Mai wrapped in chocolate. It may be some type of nonsense.

Didn't watch and never played Kimikiss so I don't know, but basically the similarity I talked on my previous post is like you say, the archtype of girls personality of love sim ^^

Yes, Junichi is holding girls back(except Sae and Risa).

SS+ anime uses some materials from Enterbrain's game and the bonus story. However, SS+ anime is an original story.

Surprisingly, the episode wasn't that bad at all.

My only real irk with it is that, because of it being only one episode, the sudden jump to the confessing part still felt rushed. Otherwise, if they had kept up the pacing they had going this whole episode for at least two or more episodes, it actually would've been like an Amagami SS arc. Also having Yuuko more involved, and even having her come to the cafe at the festival as Alice was nice to see and makes me hope there's a (DVD/Blu-ray) episode for her.

I'd probably go as far as to say that this was the best episode so far.

Have been enjoying the series, first of all.

Was disappointed with Mai ep, she came across as kinda uninteresting...at least for me.

Rina didn't really grab my interest tbh, but maybe I will be surprised.

At the moment I am looking forward to the shy, poetry reading heroine (forgot her name while writing post).

Kaicho ep was kinda disappointing too.

But camera girl and Nonoka eps (esp latter) were well done, I thought....

Ah so the sequel is entirely original? I thought Amagami has those after-confession story as well just like the new Photo Kano game.

It seems Kazuya's main skill is shooting photo. He uses it please girls, instead using the guitar.

Regarding Amagami sequel(SS+), the main story is original. Enterbrain doesn't have the student body election, bus trip, etc.

I notice Photokano uses several similar idea.

This episode's girl is fine, but her story is as plain as the daily life drama.
The girl from next episode looks like the Photography club's member.

They already did the Photo Club member (Hikari Sanehara). Next episode's girl is Tomoe Misumi, the quiet one that asked Kazuya to keep her wanting to be more like Haruka a secret in the first four episodes
