Was there any need for a Saw III (I will give you I and II, but only cause II upped the gore factor in a fun and interesting way), let alone a IV or V. When will the film companies realize that the Torture-porn Slashers have died out?

I gave up watching them after the second one, now they are just milking these films more than a dairy cow..

The series actually had a story until Saw III. Saw IV was more of a side story at most. I can't say im not going to watch it but its not really up there on my list either.

I loved the first Saw movie, but then I just didn't like how they continued it into the other movies and it just became one of those other never ending series of horror movies like Halloween. And seriously all horror movies seem to be about to day is "punching up the gore" and don't actually try to make the movie original and interesting. The first Saw was one of the modern day horror movies I actually liked, along with The Descent and a select other few.

I'm sure that there will be more Saw movies to come since hollywood loves to milk the shit out of every populer movie series and Society nowadays is so dumbed down that they find just about anything a joy to watch, like reality TV and not to mention all those damned parody movies like Epic Movie, Date Movie, Mett the Spartens. Those were some of the worst movies ever and now there is another one coming out. God entertainment has gone to hell in the past 5 to 6 years.

Saw I and II are good.

But I think five movies about a clown killing people are enough. It's pretty clear that they're not going to stop making them until they stop making money. And seeing as it doesn't take more than a week to write a screenplay about random torture with huge plot-holes and they've got a giant Hollywood budget, it looks like we'll be seeing many more very soon.

Cool

I love horror movies and Saw is no exception. I really like the whole idea of the villain, Jigsaw, and how he traps his victims in mechanical deathtraps. Then it's the decision of the victim whether he can save himself/herself by enduring a lot of pain or sacrificing someone's life in the process.

Saw was a classic in Horror Cinema History, original and still the most chilling of the series in spite of having much less gore than the later films.

Saw II was an exploitational piece of trash that sunk to the lowest common denominator of using negative-non-white-racial-stereotypes. I mean, it would have been JUST as realistic and NO LESS convincing if a sweaty-muscleboud-white-drug-dealer had pushed a helpless girl into a pit of needles, but no, this being Hollywood he just HAD to be yet another Hispanic drug dealer.

Saw 3, while not as good as Saw, was better than Saw 2; being an emotinally strong character study on the morality and philosophy of revenge.

Saw 4.... what a waste of celluloid.

Saw 5... I'm a film student, so I would have to see it.... dosen't mean I would necessarily have to like it.

IMO, the Saw series is overdone and overrated. Saw I was okay, but all the sequels afterward were just went steadily downhill. I expect Saw V to do the same, and to a even lower degree.

Milk it dry!!

You know, i first watched saw 1 on tv, and initially thought it was some vague-o movie. Well, unsurprisingly, I loved every bit of the movie by the end of it, but was completely satisfied. Fine, saw II, hell, the movie made money, and im sure there was enough to squeeze out of a second one. but III, IV, V?!?!? I'm certainly not gonna bother with this one.

Bah, well, atleast it wont be as bad as american pie : beta house.

T'is a shame that they keep having to take the biscuit with good selling and classic movies by making more...like let's say, FIVE of them.

Why not just leave them as one awesome classic like Chicken Run or The Great Escape?
Spirited Away made tonnes of money from its success, but you don't see Studio Ghibli making "Spirited Away 2". Unlike Disney that make sequels to practically every decent production that they make. Aladdin, awesome!...Aladdin 2....*Face Palm!*

Indeed DIsney sequels suck. The only Disney Sequel I liked was Aladdin 3. Much better than Aladdin 2.
