if you like Mushishi, try xxxHoLiC and Kino no Tabi
hard to get a great epic work like Juuni Kokki, but if its character development you are talking about, try Hikaru no Go and Kaleido Star if its fantasy setting then Scrapped Princess, Last Exile and for the others which I presume you mean give the feeling of a bittersweet romance.... try Bokura ga Ita, Asatte no Houkou, Victorian Romance Emma |

If you like Honey & Clover I seriously recommend that you take a look at Nodame Cantabile
Edit// I see that someone already recommended Nodame Cantabile but I´ve got a link in my post.

Mushishi, by taking you to another place, reminds me of the feeling I got when I was watching Zettai Shonen.
Going with Nana, a romance-drama related show, there is a nice old one, Hana Yori Dango. If you do not mind the animation of the old age, it is likely that you can enjoy it. For 12 Kokuki, for a story that would take the character to another world, Kyou Kara Maou might be considered as an example, although the drama aspects replaced with comedy aspects. The other two examples are Fushigi Yuugi and Kiba (with more actions). |

Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou (also known as KareKano) should also be on your taste.
I must say all the other posts till mine gave you very good recommendations similar to the shows you posted. The resemblance is not tight to any series in your first post, but for a good dramatic show with great music, great plot, original animation, with mystery, love, trust, betrayal, coming of age themes, you'll find Gankutsuou hard to beat. If the coming of age theme interests you, like in Beck and ParaKiss, then maybe NHK ni Youkoso! will be on your taste. Further away, and mostly in the second part of the series, it's in Ouran Host Club as well. Both start as comedy and while Ouran manages to mix comedy and drama in its second part, NHK walks the drama path only. Last edited by Navel; 2007-03-19 at 07:59. |
