Nope, none of the PC versions are voiced. Only the consumer ports have voices.

They claim that the patch is confirmed to work with the all ages version though it is not currently supported. I haven't tested it myself despite having both versions (my inner fanboy demanded I get both).

There actually is a way to get voices into the PC version. Can't link how or where to get the files here but you may find it useful to check the readme that comes with the patch.

Edit: Also, am I the only one who found it kinda tough to even get Shiori's route?

Seemed like whether you get it or not is entirely dependent on how you answer a seemingly irrelevant question (wait for Kaori at her club or not). Also, does your status with the other girls affect whether you can get it? On one playthrough it automatically made me tell her to go home at a particular scene, yet on another attempt I picked all the bad answers for the other girls and then that scene gave me a choice to talk to her instead.

I've uploaded this game in other forum.. Anyone played the English patch already?.. Last time I checked it, it's about 80-90% completed..

And what i want to know is.. Is the Voice Patch compatible with the English patch?

Remember, this is a beta patch; everything is translated and edited and such, but this isn't the final, 100% of 100%, absolutely done, FIN patch. NDT is now listening to and fixing bugs and typos that those who use the beta patch encounter, and NDT will release their absolute final, fancy, sparkly English patch with all of the fixes included, on July 21, Key's 10th anniversary.
I'm still waiting to get my Kanon game (I ordered it with the Key 10th Memorial Box), and I'm excited that I now have 3 Key games to play in their entirety in English.

It's actually probably a better idea to watch the anime first... you'll appreciate the source more if you do.

Watch the anime first, trust me I believe that the effect of the anime will be all that better if you don't know what's coming.

Don't know how far the Air translation is, but the Little Busters! guys are finishing up the part of game before it divides into routes.

I am totally confused when it comes to this stuff XD

I installed the game, and I patched the Reallive.exe...so I dunno what to do now. I'm not even sure if my copy is the All Ages or the 18+, lol. The folder says Kanon_SE, which some people say is the 18+, and some people say is All Ages... So I dunno what to do now, do I just click the Reallive.exe and see what happens? XD

Just copy and paste all the patch files included into their corresponding locations and paste and overwrite. Make sure to add the map to the main directory. And then that should be it. Unless you want voices, but it's easy to get those. I recommend them.

I got a weird error where all but two BGM's were disabled. Uninstalling, reinstalling, and patching fixed that up though.

For those who don't know, the translation patch actually includes extra SEEN files that you can drag into Kanon's main directory to turn it into an all-ages version. These eliminate the choices that start explicit scenes.


Quick question about Mai's route...

Heh, that's why I like Kanon lol but anyway, since I don't have the game anymore, does anyone know what happens in the bad endings?

in the VN the extent of Mai's powers aren't exactly clearly defined. I recall that the fragment of Mai's powers that was left (Hope) said that she could take Yuichi back to the moment he met Mai... and I assume that he did what was necessary to stop Mai from creating the "demons."... I interpreted it as a kinda redo, much like Tomoya and Nagisa in Clannad.

So quick question about the interpretation of Makoto's VN ending

is the last ending CG proof that Makoto was brought back by the power of the foxes (the discussion between Yuichi and Amano) during spring? or is it just Yuichi imagining and wishing that was the case? Personally, I hope the former is the case.

Regarding the question about Mai's ending, and then the comment- here's my impression, having just finished (my first "ending" in the game since running it with the translation, btw!)

Well, here's what I clearly got from it: one, it was a "redo". It seems clear that such is what Mai's powers were, the ability to sort of "rewind" time- or perhaps even create a paralell universe, who knows. Whatever happened, things redid themselves... However, even if you question it then, I think there is an answer lying in the words at the end from Mai's powers. That they'd like to be called "Hope". As in- it is up to YOU to decide, ultimately, what happened... but, if you have hope, then you can believe in the answer (and ending) that Hope provides us. If you do not... well, then you can come up with explanations like, it's just a delusion he was making up, etc. It's up to us, in the end, to decide:

will we have hope, or will we let go of it? I think in the end, it's like one of those pictures you look at, where you can either see a lovely woman, or an ugly old crone. BOTH exist- but it is up to us, in the end, to decide which we see. The clear story "ends" with Mai dying in his arms- but Hope then provides for us an "ending". It has a dream-like hue, because it is Hope's ending. I think the best anime endings are like that: they don't fill in every blank, but allow US to make the final conclusions, to draw out the story. We fill in the "happily ever after"- or, if hope is just beyond us, if we simply cannot accept that wonderful an outcome that it provides... we can provide a more "realistic, depressing" ending where the death continues as it was where we left off, or we can let outselves imagine Yuichi, lost forever in a delusion.
