Hisa succeeds where Shizuno fails and manages to take down Kuuko. It looks like the Saki fanbase still has a chance to claim 6 of the 8 Top 8 spots. Nagi's run comes to an end at the hands of Louise. I guess a combination of Hayate's fall and Louise getting a new season was too much for Nagi to beat. Louise seems like she has a good chance to make it to the Top 8, though.
This is our one and only match day in Round 3 without a Saki character. I haven't done very well at predicting the abilities of these characters. Astarotte is the only one of the four I expected to get out of Round 2. Cure Peace did well to get this far and she's the only character in Round 3 who is from a series I haven't seen yet. However, Astarotte is probably the end of the line for her. After Tomoka's early exit, the other Ro-kyu-bu characters have done their best to make up for it. I think Hinata has a real chance to beat Chihaya but I don't think she can pull it off. The Idolm@ster character will win again. Well, that was unexpected in both cases. Glad to see Hisa win, though. Farthest she's ever made it... and she barely did anything in Achiga-hen this year.

As expected Hisa won for being a Saki character. Louise beat Nagi probably because this is Louise's final year and Nagi couldn't get much popularity from being in a 1 hour movie last year. Well Nagi will return to the tournament next year.
Not sure who will win but my pick is Lotte. Hinata will win if the match is all about who is more moe. |

Looks like Akari really is the last line of defense for a non-saki rep to win AST this year. I wouldn't be surprised if Saki picked Louise to snipe Nagi because of Hayate's latest season (Saki not taking any chances). I can't see Shana losing, but with Ako going on the same day, it would all but confirm that Saki is trying to eliminate their final competition (Kugimiya) before the top 8 if Shana did lose.
Supporting Lotte and Hinata today.

I have to give the Saki faction supporters major props - Contrary to what I had feared would be the case, they are ruthlessly "playing" J-SaiMoe. It's actually becoming a thing of beauty.
My impression is that Akarin may well be the only major roadblock remaining on Team Saki's Road to the J-SaiMoe 2012 Championship. And Saki might actually manage to get more representatives into the Final 8 of this year than what Madoka Magica had last year. Very impressive.
