It will be a game, but afaik it was anime first. I think Ritsuka is pretty standard fare so far, and she has her moments of holding the idiot ball (yes Ritsuka, climb into the mysterious guy's car and allow him to take you to his mysteriously rich house where you... spend the night...? instead of at your friend's place? ) but in this episode her interaction with Mage during the song was hilarious. Mage is all "GIRL I'M SO AWESOME" and he's having fun showing how awesome he is, meanwhile Ritsuka is clearly not impressed and she's all but rolling her eyes.

My favorite episode so far hands down. Mage is the best, and his song was hilarious and I loved it. To bad Rem had to show up to spoil the mood. Shiki also had two scenes I really liked with the whole dog fur used to stuff a bear and then creeping up on Mage at the end. Man he's so deliciously creepy I love it. I'm looking forward to his episode.
So a vampire exorcist? How exactly does that work? *remembers Vasalord* Spoiler for spoiler for Vasalord:
Also, I think this is the first time I've seen an idol/singing show where a main character/VA rapped. I rather like Mage's VA Subaru Kimura's voice. It's unfortunate he's gotten so few roles thus far.

I don't think it's just because he's simple-minded or tsundere. Those character tropes have been done to death in both reverse harems and other genres, and oftentimes produce pretty unlikable or bland characters (think Yu from Owari no Seraph or harems which try to play it straight). It's the fact that the tone of the episode pretty much calls him out on his idiocy, and the vibrancy with which he acts in spite of this makes him hilarious. Like kuromitsu was saying by pointing out that it doesn't feel like Ritsuka's not in control, Mage thinks he's all that and is in complete control of the relationship, but by the end of the episode, we all know he's just a dork, and got completely played by her without her even meaning to.

Mage: Look at me taking you to all these awesome places and buying you these awesome clothes, and buying you this awesome food. Call me aniki dammit! Ritsuka: Mage: Ugh! Human food is so gross. *leaves a pile of bones on my plate* Ritsuka: Mage: Dammit woman stop looking so sad! Especially considering you get to be in my awesome presence. Here look at this awesome sunset, because girls like pretty things and you're a girl, right!? Ritsuka: Mage: For f**ks sake!*licks tears* Hmmm, your tears are delicious. (sorry...)

^Yep, pretty much. Also the best part when he's so surprised by his own dere side that he accidentally dumps Ritsuka in the sea. That "RITSUKAAAA!" as he dives after her... I laughed so much. XDDD
Well, he could be a "sealed" vampire. Or one controlled somehow. *has Vampire Knight flashbacks* no no no please don't T__T) Yeah, he was really nice, the singing was nice, and the song was really fun, too. Let's hope for more Mage songs (as if we'll get any more ). Btw I just heard the original(?) full version of the song (with different lyrics), and he throws a kiss in it. XDDDD (Lindo does it too in his song, and also in the OP, although I'm not sure if that's meant to be in-character or not.) Last edited by kuromitsu; 2015-11-06 at 14:51. |

Mage's three rules on how to woo a woman: 1: Take her places 2: Buy her things 3: If all else fails...get her sopping wet I guarantee by the end of the night she'll be putty in your hands. I'm sorry, can you tell I'm having way to much fun with this? Quote:

As for Shiki, IMO the song itself is not much to write home about, but it's worth it for the singing, what with Hirakawa turning the yandere up to eleven. |

FYI the B-side of the ED single is a different version of the student council's theme sung in episode 1. |

Hmm, I think I like the anime version a tad bit more, so it's nice to know that both versions are on the character single. It also looks like the dog/blue haired kid might be getting a song as well. There's a listing on CD Japan with no announced character yet.

- On another note, it occurred to me that after next week, we should have cycled through everyone (except the dog/kid). Does this mean we might have six whole episodes dedicated to actual plot with... dare I say it, everyone involved? Might otome adaptations finally be progressing away from recent adaptation disasters? Stay tuned folks. |

Did not expect this from Shiki's song...I went......then Heh, and I figured there was something more to Azuna...turns out she's also an exorcist. Am I the only one who doesn't really trust those high priests? Seems too obvious if they are all good. ...and it looks like Ritsuka's mom got bitten...is she a vamp now too? ...so...Lindo may be half human and half vamp...looks like his mom might be human after all (otherwise, how could she have died from a mere illness, or even get sick in the first place?) ...and I will predict that that birthday party with Azuna won't be happening based on the Azuna/Ritsuka trend we've been seeing.

You know, I'll give the makers of this series credit here:
In most otome series(at least the ones I've seen anyway), they always have the harem play around their attraction to the MC...and drop hints here and there. This series? Fuck it, the harem just gonna sing about how much they wanna seduce and f**k Ritsuka

That's it, I demand an official Azuna/Ritsuka route. Make it happen, Rejet!
If last week's episode was surprisingly fun with Mage taking the Best Devil title (for me, anyway ), this episode was surprisingly well-directed. The "museum" segment was genuinely tense and the visuals were pretty good for this show, even the BGM was better than normally. I was actually annoyed when Shiki's song came on, there was a pretty good tension going on and the song pretty much ruined it. (Especially with the way the lyrics... uh, went there... ) And Ritsuka fell for the "I know stuff about your mom" trick again. At least this time she brought Azuna with her, but... really, Ritsuka, you're up against a bunch of demons, you should really know better. Quote:
So yeah, Lindo is half-vampire and likely the son of the blond guy in the OP, probably the vampire boss. Even though his human side allows him to be an exorcist he can tap into his vampire side (if he's even aware that he has it) and use Dark Powers. The guy Ritsuka saw was probably her dad... he had reddish hair like Ritsuka. |

Alright, I'm getting kind of annoyed by Ritsuka now. Everywhere she decides to go, people around her either get involved or get involved and get hurt. I would hope she's learning from all this. Lindo and Azuna have it tough. It's hard reminding myself this is just a harem show.
Also, who was that guy Maria was kissing? |

That moment where you realize that Rei Ryugazi is singing songs about how much he wants to fuck Ritsuka......
In terms of story/direction...this was actually the best episode so far in the fact that we saw a battle(well, Azuna got wrecked) and even the museum was tense. Also, didn't see that twist with Shiki being a fallen angel actually. and the vampire stuff as well so...yay DwD! Next: Puppy route!

Rem is obvioulsy having some feelings towards Ritsuka.
Shiki lacks tact and is probably the weirdest of the bunch. Looks like a peek into the past shook her up. Azuna is an exorcist too. No wonder Ritsuka feels so alone..
