I'm looking for something I can laugh about.

Watched recently Seitokai no Ichizon and Baka to Test to Shokanjuu and had a great time because of both. I love this kind of humor, overexcited and fast paced like in this works or Gintama which comes to my mind thinking of comedy. (Or the Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi at least partly)

Can you recommend me similar works? The setting doesn't matter as long as the humor is good.

Seitokai Yakuindomo, it's very much like Ichizon, except the girls are the perverts instead of the guy

Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, maybe?, the brand of humor from it came reminded me of those series.

Since I don’t know what you’ve already seen and your best examples are Gintama and Baka to Test to Shikanjuu, I’ll suggest three obvious titles first: School Rumble, Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu, and Beelzebub which have the same soul as the titles you mentioned.

You can also try Working!! and the old classic, Golden Boy. Also, the usual, Ranma 1/2.

Along with Fumoffu, Seto no Hanayome is another masterpiece in term of explosive comedy.

I'll get Hayate the Combat Butler, Sket Dance and I second Milky Holmes, but don't forget to watch Arakawa Under the Bridge.

While Working!! is a great comedy in it's own right, it's style comedy and general feel is very different from the type of series listed by the OP, so I am not sure about suggesting it.

Galaxy Angels. Episodic, but really hilarious. The girls' antics will crack you up for sure.

Seconding Hayate the Combat Butler. Also, try B Gata H Kei(But, its got loads of ecchi) and Mayo Chiki(another ecchi-comedy).
A special mention to Sergent Keroro - as long as you don't mind frogs
