Wow the tough times get going again. Figures the moment they head out to get protection someone who they can't handle shows up. A founder of Gazelle who has just insane speed. Get some insight that Troi probably isn't a naturally occurring disease. The group seems to have either created it somehow or are using it, wanting people to be infected. Sisters and someone like Kiri would naturally become enemies of them.

A real dilemma that everyone has to take in. Kiri of course doesn't want others to sacrifice themselves. He was supposed to somehow help these people and now he's being asked to run away. Sacrifice is a bit easier for the sisters since that's what they've been doing for all this time. Young girls that are taking in the disease while shortening their own lifespans. Of course they don't want to die, but to save someone that could help everyone would be their top priority.

Maybe Sui has been stalking Kiri again. Would be one of those big moments for her to come out. Though that guys speed and ability seems too much for anyone to handle. Can't wait for the next chapter that's for sure.

I'd be surprised if Kiri actually ran away. Not because I think he's a coward, or even that he's thinking logically, but moreso because this manga hasn't striked at me to be the type where people die in front of the protaganists in this way. Plus, it doesn't seem like it's in his character to do that, even if the odds are against him.

I, too, hope Sui's following him. I want to see her at full strength, and whatever other tactics her and Kiri have come up with.

It's practically inevitable. Sui has been introduced, and shown as having important abilities for the story, so there's NO WAY she's not going to come to the rescue, and get fired up over finally meeting some strong opponents!

At this point, the mangaka would have to fall comatose, and have his manga taken over by drug-crazed monkeys... drug crazed YANKEE monkeys... to not have this event unfold.

Wow, I knew he was gonna have trouble, but I didn't think he'd be that useless against... her?(looks like a guy to me). With him in THAT tight of a spot and no time to spare, there isn't any doubt in my mind that SOMEBODY is gonna pop outta nowhere and catch the Gazelle woman off guard.

That opponent was a girl? Wow had me fooled, here's hoping it was just a typo on the translation or something.

They really have gotten into a worst case scenario there. I just knew heading back was completely stupid yet there they went. I'm surprised they got Kiri to run off in the first place. But you just knew he couldn't just leave those people to die for his sake. He didn't want it to come to the point where even El would sacrifice herself for his sake.

Not hard to understand their thinking of course. Sisters are people who have signed themselves up to be sacrifices in the first place. They are shortening their lifespans in order to give people some extra time with their loved ones. Most of the time El could let her head run things instead of her heart which like anyone wouldn't want to leave people to die for their sakes.

In the end of course they just have no chance against that kind of opponent. Got separated pretty quickly and now are in a horrible race against time. Kiri had to get to El before its too late and she vanishes. Problem is against that speed he has absolutely no chance. Its going to take Sui or someone else jumping out of nowhere to give him the time needed to get to El.

Now I really want to see chapter 9 .

And here we are. Best not to double post after all. In the end wasn't the rescue we had been expecting to see. Thanks to the power of Flare managed to get the guy interested enough in letting Kiri and the others live. Was damn close though and if that guy hadn't had the curiosity about that power they wouldn't have survived this one.

Was a close call, but managed to make it to El before she was gone completely. Did end up getting a bit too close for comfort in that regard. Some real frustrations on his part on even after coming back not being able to take that guy down. I'm sure this attack has really strengthened the resolve for Kiri to move forward on the path he's gotten himself onto. Stopping troi and the Gazelle's that are out to cause so much trouble. Things aren't going to be boring with that guy promising to send out more assassins as time goes on. Will be some interesting times ahead.

Yeah, I was TOTALLY thrown off, I didn't see that coming, esp. since I thought every one of the sisters were already passed out. Still, as much as I wanted to see Sui kicking some taz, grabbing one of the sister's hands and using Flare had more of an impact on me, simply because I didn't expect it. As you said, this definitely heightened his resolve to get stronger. Looks like it'll be a fun ride .

"You're a boy, so you have to protect her properly, okay? It's alright if you get hurt though." "Aren't you supposed to be *my* mum?" I just love that family, so much fun . Of course they had to make sure El didn't feel guilty about what happened. Since with her past probably has expectations of people blaming her for things that happen.

Had thought it would be a smart move to take Sui along even if she's a bit out there. They will need all the firepower they have since the Gazelle's will be sending out assassins after them. Damn funny with her standing behind Kiri with almost a horror film expression.

Time for them to move forward so the town doesn't run into serious problems. Best they can do is get out there. Dealing with troi and I'm certain the meaning of the Gazelles will also be revealed around then.

Sui is coming along for the ride, both action-wise and comedy-wise. I can already see her teasing El and Kiri and making fun of them for her own enjoyment. Heck, I even see her confessing to Kiri.... AGAIN .

Well we're off in the next town. Must be rough on El that she even has to be careful of people with long hair...That Sui really is trying to get herself killed I think. Then she goes off with the money to buy god knows how many cherries. At least she's helpful in a fight, which can offset some off her madness.

Some questions brought up as to Kiri's race. Though he and Sui dodged the question did get a type that he could possibly be. Also clear this series is just full of *unique* personalities . Though no doubt things aren't going to get boring.

I figured he'd be some special combination of races unique to the world, else, why wouldn't he AND Sui not answer directly. And El is a Nagin . That could mean she has at least some potential fighting ability, though obviously not on par with Sui.
