Hmmm just listened to the different songs and their respective Animations, i have to say the songs go well with their animations and both songs have that smooth flowy feeling to them, and the original (one for the game) has more of a chilled trance feel to it.
I think i am going to have to 'obtain' the OST =D |

Haven't heard the game's opening, therefore, my comments should stick exclusively to the anime's opening.
Between choosing the TV version and the Single CD version of disillusion I prefer the TV version. The sound and tempo resolution is dynamic never losing its vibrant rhythm while the singer keeps the mood low but soft for the TV version. In contrast, the full song of the Single CD version has the tempo long winded and slow in pace. Even in the climatic resolution, the rhythm is kept low hinting a deep, ethereal aura of magic mystery. It does not possess the vibrant tones of its TV counterpart. |

the game OP is a bit ...RAW, focus too much on the vocal part, which is not that good in the first place!! the anime OP is more polish and refined! very refreshing with retouch and improvevement in the vocal part very well done soundtrack so far in the anime! IN YOUR FACE KAJIURA YUKI! wake up and stop producing some pretendious half-soul anime musics >< whatever happens to u after Madlax!! >< |

Dissillusion is so much more refined than This Illusion. While the game version has a great core beat, the overall execution is not very good imo, and in fact for me it's grating. I simply can't enjoy listening to it, especially at loud volumes. It's like amateur(crappy) techno.
On the other hand, the anime's OP is much smoother, well orchestrated, and very enjoyable. I wish they would release the single soon(if they already have I don't know where to find it). |

I think they all have different qualities to them. I like the game version cause it's more...active? Disillusion is calmer, slower, and focuses more on the vocals. But in all honesty, I like the Piano version (if you've heard it). Hoping I also can get a hold of the sheet music for it =p
Avalon Tracks are pretty nice. I like Illusion/Fate, myself.

The OP single was released on the 22nd if anyone doesn't know yet.
I just like to add to the praises for the anime OP that besides its elegant arrangements, it gives me a certain retro vibe, like it's made for an 80's or 90's anime. I love that nostalgic feeling. |
