Izumi Ito’s “Machikado Mazoku” manga series is getting an anime adaptation.

The four-panel manga follows Yūko Yoshida, a 15-year-old girl who awakens one morning with demonic power, and is tasked with defeating a local magical girl. This could be fun. If nothing else, I support Yuko's efforts to try and work her family out of cursed poverty. Though it's a long road to go there. She's so weak that she needs pointers, sympathy, and pity from her foe

Might be better off just making friends and then asking to borrow some of her blood later

. Although that's probably where this will all go anyways.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but despite leaning on his horn that truck driver was still accelerating towards Yuko. Jerk was deliberately trying to kill her.

I'm a sucker for this kind of deadpan absurdist humor. This might be my favorite show of the season. (A low bar, admittedly, but still...)

Watched episode 1:

haha, I'm sold on the first ep. Yuko so kawaii, and they chose the right v.a for her. Hungry, apologizing, being a beggar -- I was laughing so hard.

This show fills the gap that Hitoribocchi left in my cgdct slot.

Somehow the magical girl sounds like Origami from Date A Live.

Looking forward to next week.

This show won me over when Yuko's response to being told her destiny was to pull her blanket over her head and go back to sleep.

Yuko is lucky, the magical girl in this show is kind-hearted. Not taking her threats seriously.

However, I have seen more cruel mahou shoujo in other shows. There, threats as minor as these + having horns and tail might get you something terrible instead of bread.
