No, I'm pretty sure it was from Gundam, and the guy's hair was pink, not red.

Well the only Gundam show character like that I can think of is George de Sand, the France Gundam pilot in G-Gundam.

^ Can't find much via google but that title reads "Aru Mura no Tawaketa Dekigoto". At least that's how I think it's read... you also seem to only get any results for the whole string if you search it in japanese with quotation marks: "ある村のたわけた出来事"

It's the chapter title. After a bit of googling, the title of the manga is Uruwashi no Wasabi Chazuke. It's a hentai manga.

There was this manga I think about people turning into metal, and there was witch involved who tried to help the protagonist where she is stuck on an Island. At some point she was shown to be a skeleton in a barrel... What manga was this? I forgot.

I had an anime, it was about some kids racing each other with RC cars.
its kinda like beyblade, but then with RC cars,

I kinda forgot the title, cant find it in my memories nor google...

I'm almost completely certain that you're talking about Bakusou Kyoudai. This show was insanely popular among kids a few years ago.

As a kid, back in the 80s or very early 90s, I remember watching a cartoon (or cartoon movie) that really captured the imagination.

At the time, I didn't really know the difference between anime, and North American animation. However, by my vague recollections of this cartoon/cartoon movie, I'm pretty sure it was an anime.

I say this because I recall the characters in it having very round faces and the big eyes look which typifies much of anime.

One of the main thrusts of the show was preserving human society and nature against pollution. In this cartoon, towns and cities were situated in the clouds. The cartoon focused on how polluted one city in the clouds was becoming, and the struggle of the protagonists to either clean it up, or move away from it to a cleaner place (I can't remember which).

While I only vaguely remember this cartoon/cartoon movie, I also recall liking it a lot.

Any idea what anime this might be?

This is Zetsuen no Tempest. Sadly the scans for it have seemed to stop, it was really an interesting manga.
