Meiya and Sumika do look similar to Mitsuki and Haruka respectively, but they couldn't really be more different in terms of character (especially sumika, nothing like haruka at all).

Its definately less on the plot side as Kiminozo, but its a whole lot more "Fun". Kiminozo was just depressing (but good!).
