Compromise kind of defeats the entire point behind a split Congress/WH. The two party system tied to our "balance" between the WH, Senate, and House, is a zero-sum game. If anything, we should be glad for gridlock. Government would be far scarier if it was an actual effective machine at legislating. It'd be all roses if it happened to be legislating things you love, but a complete nightmare if you happen to be on the other side of that divide.

From what I can see in the last 2 years, I've seen more congressmen on the red side being jackasses holding on their ideology. We can look at their comments about abortion to see how ideology is rotting them to the core.

It's what kept Reagan in line for most of the 80s, and Clinton in line for the last half of the 1990s. Yep, anything to keep both sides bickering with each other instead of screwing us over is a good thing.

While a recount in Florida still remains a possibility, the chance of it happening has become meaningless considering Obama seems to be well on his way to win Ohio. With PA in the bag, Obama should reach 270 even without Florida.

Yes. I may be overly optimistic here, but I don't think the growing public dissatisfaction is eluding either parties. I think something will give this time around. One of Romney's mantra for his campaign was how he worked with both GOP and DEM in Massachusetts. A lot of GOP representative and senator preached the same mantra in their own campaign trail, so yes I do think there is a good chance of that happening.

When the House Split to the Republicans, you know what happened? Hyper-partisan bs and using the debt ceiling hostage which would have crashed the global economy yet again.

Perhaps the BBC can give you some input. I'd rather not watch any US news channel for now. |
