Really enjoyed the first episode. It may not have Gegege no Kitaro or Ancient Magus Bride visuals, but I'm always up for more yokai and fae anime.
I find it interesting that our two veterans can't understand the Another, and from the sounds of it they seemed to be under the impression that no one can. Which begs the question, how do you effectively help and police a group you can't communicate with. That in itself could be an interesting discourse. As a black woman living in America it makes me think of the discussion around people who don't live in our communities policing them, especially as more black and brown unarmed people are gunned down at the hands of the police. Don't know if the show will get that deep, but we'll see. Either way this looks interesting.

One of those yaoi series huh, the last scene also hinted at something deeper so if ever I'm in the mood for something that doesn't need too many brain cells to understand I might pick this up.

As one of the characters said when he compared them to dogs and cats, you don't need to understand them to tell them to keep away from a certain area for example, like how you can use training or spray bottles to prevent pets from doing something.

Except the yokai and fae are clearly way more intelligent then just dogs and cats. The fact that he even compared them to such just goes to show their over all ignorance of what these being are. You can't help, police or prevent anything if you don't even understand what you're dealing with.

I'll keep an eye on this.
I heard that it's shoujo since Monthly Asuka publishes it. I've watched some government procedural stuff and some paranormal stuff like Helsing in the mix, but I'd like to see some civil servants who get involved in keeping an eye on the Another communities without getting them revealed in the real world.

Thank goodness the MC showed up or this organization would be completely useless.

Then there's that line that goes "talk to them? they're anothers, not a person!" how condescending can you get? Really though, if I'm a yokai who's intelligent enough to understand what these humans are trying to do without trying to communicate with me first I'll be deeply offended and will not follow what they want to happen, I mean, how presumptuous of them to "police" me, an intelligent entity, without asking me first! Who do they think they are?? And we know for sure they know what the humans are doing, even the fairies know that the protagonist is the newest employee and even knows what a city hall is! Quote:

I know this is all just a setup to make the OP's power stand out and make him special, but it really isn't realistic, an all out war between humans and yokai should've went off by now EDIT: Just watched ep3 and I noticed in the OP that one of the angels was reading a manga of some sort, meaning THEY CAN READ! So I still can't find a plausible explanation as to why they can't communicate with each other. I just can't wrap my head around the inconsistencies y'all pointed out and now I can't unsee them whenever I watch this show, I've not seen a show like this in recent memory, this isn't even a plot hole, the entire premise of the series is wrong from the start!

^ By our definition, we consider it Licensed. I changed the thread prefix.
This show ought to be one of my season favorites. On paper, the show hits all my sweet spots. But on screen, it lacks something. The visuals are the main problem. It's ... I don't know ... the character designs are so simplistic or something. It's very disappointing.

I'm not sure if it's best to read the manga/novel.
I somehow appreciate it because of supernatural policing from the perspective of bureaucrats and police officers doing uniformed patrols and stuff in a conspiracy. Also, it seems that the subs and the dub are using Theo instead of Seo. Which make sense in a way since it's mentioned that he's a Brit...
