Miscellaneous stuff about the event from the official twitter:

Previous tweets today mention a change to the difficulty mechanics: any progress, including debuffs and routing gimmicks, will be maintained when switching from a higher difficulty to a lower difficulty. No need to start the map all over again if you decide that Hard Mode is too difficult.

Also, apparently this event will also have a 4th difficulty mode aimed at new players or those who don't have time but still want to clear the event, so something like a "Super Easy" difficulty perhaps?

Finally, Musashi K2 will require 3 Blueprints, 3 New Mode Gun Mount Improvement Material, and an Action Report. Fortunately, this event will apparently reward multiple blueprints and the other materials needed.

If the image Previews are to be trusted the new ships are:
Jervis, Tawkeht (Russian signs) Gambier bay and Intrepid.

The picture of intrepid is just loading endlessly in KC3 so its probably not yet in the game.
Musashi finally got clothes and the new DEs well... Lets say its even worse than the grade schoolers now... (Kindergardeners this time).

Also Musashi looks epic , although I won't have her for the event due to the super steep blueprint requirements.

I must say, Konishi's nailed it with Zuikaku's Leyte art. Not only from a stylistic standpoint, but also from an artistic standpoint with her expression (both regular and damaged). If you know about her history by then it's absolutely perfect.

For some atmospheric gimmick, have a Japanese propaganda clip about Cape Engano. Not sure if the footage is really from the battle or just edited to fit the narrative.

KC Zuikaku's Leyte CG is, imo, the example of what set KC apart from its concurrents, including that game that I refuse to name. Other than some miss, you can feel the love and the care for the ships as characters.
