That looks pretty good in my opinion, albeit a little bland. When considering text, make use the space you have. So, on that image, bring the text off from the edge and put a little space in-between it and the border. The size and colour of the text however are fine.

What program are you using?

Don't use this image. It's definitely not an original image; either someone has implement two images into one or some serious colour alteration has been made. So much so, that the colours of the image look overly saturated, and do not mix at all.

It's an OK image, but it would be much better in a higher res. The quality I think is a bit too low.

@ Sworn to Belive :
1st image. A nice one you are already using it. a good choice.
2nd image I wouldn't go as far as JRendell but: I could be used for signature but it would need a bit of work, probably not only a bit of desaturating... the only real asset of this picture is the sunset
3rd image: low resolution and low quality, as it is right now I would stay away of it.
4th image nice one but the tree in front of the sunset is a downer: you could probably do something of this.

I have a problem, for some reason my photoshoop (extented version cs4) has little fonts. I downloaded some from deviant art, but I don't know how to install them?

Thanks

Put the font files into C:\Windows\Fonts, or in Windows 7/Vista you can simply right-click font > install.

^A question related to fonts ... I got a PSD where a font called VisitorTT2BRK is used in some layers .. I googled it, downloaded it and added it to the folder ... It said it installed them, but when I reopened the PSD in Photoshop and tried to edit the text in those layers it still says that I don't have the font .. Why ;<

Perhaps you don't have the correct variant of the font? As in that one uses italic version but you only have the regular one.

Well how am I supposed to know that ? When I click on the text, it says I'm missing the VisitorTT2BRK font .. so I download it, and it still says that. It doesn't say anything about a variant.. but I guess I'll try and see if I can find some variants of it.

Edit : Yeah appears to be working now, thanks. I don't see any difference on these two though, the other one was called Visitor TT2 BRK and the other one Visitor TT2 -BRK-

My current signature looks like it doesn't have a border, but it is supposed to. I put one on and it's visible in PS, but I uploaded it to imageshack and now you can't see the border. what might've gone wrong?

Hmm maybe

1st be sure that the border layer is at the topmost part of all the layer

2nd if you'll stare at it really close you'll see the grayish? border...

3rd be sure that when you stroke it, the option must be the inside option for much visibility and thickness (since the default is the center if I'm not mistaken) and remember the opacity percentage ok? ^_^

that's what I think but still don't sure about this...

Well if you choose 1px gray border for image like that, of course it won't show. Just pick simple black border .. it fits nearly every signature out there and you will see it. Or create border with 2px white and then add 1px gray so you can see the gray part after the white part.

Anyway my question : If I want to crop something out of image on a photoshop, the crop tool always '' sticks '' the edges of the signature. So for example, if I wanted to crop just 1px away from the edge of the image, it wouldn't be possible cause it would stick right to the edge like some kind of magnet =_= .. What's up with that ?

To elaborate, I tried to crop Kanade av out of my current signature because it has black border at the top and it would look stupid if that got cropped with it. So I tried to crop right below the black border, but it's simply not possible .. either it will stick or I need to move the tool further away, but I don't want to do either ...

Here's the trick for this one..... after the use of cropping tool, before proceeding, zoom it 3x or more then adjust the area you want to crop... then proceed (enter or approve)

That's also the trick when you're moving some text that are close to each other...

Or simply select it then shrink the selection by 1 pixel?

You need to change the "Snap to" option.

Go to View --> Snap to and select None.

Mind you, this is for Photoshop CS, so the option could be located somewhere else in a different version.

I tried editing the canvas size, and the only thing happened was that 1px was removed from the BOTTOM .. But the border is at the top too where the problem lies. Thanks for that snap to info, makes cropping much easier

If you wanted to change the canvas size, then make sure it trims both up and bottom (make sure the arrow starts in the middle) and remove 2 pixels (not just 1)

That's because you subtracted only 1px from the height. If you have a 1px border at the top and bottom, then that's 1px + 1px = 2px

Btw, if you want to move something pixels away without changing the snap settings (since you may like using them for something else), just hold down the CTRL key, once you've clicked.
