Miku Leading The Charge In Motion Capture Technology:

Righteous.

Not just for games, but the PAINFUL process of synching a voice actor's performance by drawing it frame by frame on a cell could soon be over as well!! Now it will be a FULL performance.

A New Level of Creepiness: “Now Miku Could Be Anyone…”:

"Although Miku fans are naturally more than a little excited, the real impact is sure
to be on MMORPGs and other multiplayer titles – promising as it does a great leap
forward in how well gamers can expect to interact with creepy guys pretending to
be cute girls…"

MMOs and virtual worlds are the first thing I thought of, all the emotes ever needed ... though given the Internet Dickweed Effect, the power for misuse is likely to be awful

I can't tell whether it's going to be a bad or a good thing. But since the queen of Vocaloid is leading or possibly changing the way of motion capturing technology, I guess I can be okay with that plus I love Miku Hatsune and her songs. They're so awesome!

air guitar and body movements/vocals for Rock Band are another possibility. Now you can knock out both the lamp AND make a hole in the ceiling leaping off your amp.

Only if they do more than just face motion capture.

That would be a cool feature! I would so buy if they did that, no joke!

As awesome and smooth as this technology is, an identical technology is already being implimented into EverQuest 2.

Face mapping and tracking technologies have been around for some time, so Japan is actually behind in this technology.

Japanese Hologram Pop Star Hatsune Miku Is
Coming to America:

"Singer Hatsune Miku is crossing the Pacific next year with her first U.S.
and Canadian tour. Sadly, fans won't be able to get her autograph,
because Miku is a hologram.

The Japanese "virtual pop star" has opened for Lady Gaga and even
appeared on the "Late Show with David Letterman." Created by Crypton
Future Media, Miku is an avatar for the "singing voice synthesis" software
Vocaloid."

This isn't new, guys. This stuff has been out for the better part of a decade, maybe more. They've been using tech like this in movies for quite a long time now, and it's already been integrated into video games as well. Sure, maybe the first time it's been integrated into Vocaloid specifically, but to be honest I'm shocked they haven't developed it sooner.
