Basically more people read manga then novel. More people read it, so more people like it for good story. Even I myself often pick LN and WN (that's how I get to know GB btw) based on Mangas and animes I encounter.

Or would you say LotR became popular (again) after movies because it had Orlando Bloom in role of metrosexual elf? Same thing.

The reasons are alright. Everyone likes to read it for different reasons. I admit that I like the Priestess, too, and that I enjoy how Goblin Slayer interacts with her and High Elf Archer.
But I like it only because their interaction is more based on camaraderie than affection.

To each their own, I liked Naruto for the plot rather than the battle spectacles (no, really).
And if someone reads GS because he finds the characters compelling, that is okay as well. The characters are the main reason I stick with it.

And if someone looks for goblin rape, well..., to each their own I guess. But I suggest they look for something else, as depicted goblinrape is so scarce in there, those guys are better off with hentai. They will just waste their time, but then again maybe they leave some money, which is good for us...

Maybe we should trick some people by false advertising GS in some weird forum.

I definitely do not expect goblins to catch girls for the chess games

Also one of the charms of the manga is more or less realistic display of surviving. Being realistic means showing things that might disturb somebody. But well rape has been always the part of the real world not to mention the world where goblins have no females.

Yeah, I was about to comment on that before I got carried away. I legitimately enjoyed this chapter far more than any of those before it. I actually almost felt but a fractioned taste of Goblin Slayer's goblin slaying fetish.

It was that good. He's a badass. I'm slowly gaining more admiration towards him, which sucks because he's sort of a rival in love.

yes, look at history of the real world. When there is huge inbalance between Male:female ratio, crime and social unrest starts to go up. Countries used to solved this problem by having wars and killed off the excess males.

Why does that summary list him as being Gold Rank? Not to mention they are severely downplaying just how visceral the series gets with that weak description. I feel bad for anyone who happens to read that and think they're getting an ordinary fantasy story only to get... well, you've seen Chapter 1.

Funny to hear that they're jumping ahead. Well, volume 4 was made up of sidestories/prequels, but I didn't expect a third manga series. With the upcoming anime, that's a pretty good sign for this series' popularity (I think?).

That was a really close call. I thought the ogre battle was bad, but this was much worse, with half the party in really bad shape. Even for a group of Silver Adventurers (and Priestess), mob tactics still work against them. If Goblin Slayer had been by himself, well, he probably still expects his life to end like that someday. Well, he probably would have let loose with more collateral damage as he went down, without High Elf Archer nagging him about that.
