I'm a little confused. Is she supposed to be Kurisu or Chris? One of my friends keeps typing "Chris", and Rintaro keeps calling her Christina, and I think she was in America for a while, but the subs usually go "Kurisu".

It's Kurisu (紅莉栖 in Japanese), her name is designed as a pun such that it sounds like the anglo name Chris. Okabe bastardised the pun further thus calling her Christina.

Spoiler:

I'd use the two spellings interchangeably. No difference.

And oh, just imagine her being called "Christie".

I wasn't even aware Japan had a similar name for Christina, to be honest.

There isn't. But Japanese naming system is quite flexible in that you can more or less create a completely new give name provided you use government approved kanji - which there are a lot, and it's actually possible to name your kid with the phonetics of say, Pikachu, for example and there is a site that is dedicated to actual registered weird names. Once I've seen on TV there were a couple whom were Gundam otaku and named their daughter with the phonetics that reads Seira (Seira Mass, Char's sister), and that's not a proper traditional Japanese name.

Even then most anime don't give a damn about that and just use what ever they want.

Unless a live action version would focus more on her.

thinking about it again, I think you guys got it right about moeka and feyris.

I'd like to see some sci-fi movie or mini-series, maybe with some minor adaptation...

at the end of the series, the whole story would have been told in someking like 8 hours...

So episode 23 managed to add yet another layer to Kurisu's character and has me thinking of her as something of a subversion of the child prodigy character type.

This time instead of just allowing a character to save the day all the time and always being a character trait that brings positive results it's instead the source of all her misery. It's what leads to her strained relationship with her father, which is one of her greatest regrets to the point where she wishes she'd never been born gifted. It's the indirect cause of WWIII via the paper she prints to try and smooth the relationship over with her father. And it's also the ultimate cause of her own inevitable demise in the Beta world line.

Poor Kurisu, she never asked for any of this.

It gets even sadder when you consider she became a child prodigy in the first place because she wanted to keep up with her father.

For me Kurisu was never anyone special and I still don't understand why everyone are so obsessed with her.

Don't get me wrong, she is a good character who helped a lot and made plot move but other than that she is not any different than many other tsundere characters out there except that she is actually smart. I actually wanted to facepalm several times on her stuborness.

Though I do feel sorry for her. Her father is an ass who should lose everything.

In general, I don't really care about tsundere characters (especially the Kugimiya-kind cliche-hills) but I found her character very likeable. Yeah, she has the typical tsundere lines and all, but her character has had a "little" plus which made her awesome in my eyes.

Also: she really did help a lot for Okabe (waifu-effect :3).

What stuborness did Kurisu show that is facepalm worthy? If anything I would facepalm the main's antics before even thinking about facepalming Kurisu.

^I lost count on how many times she said "I'll do it but not because I care about you", I don't mind her saying that from time to time, I also do it but she could be at least a bit more honest from time to time. All her honesty mostly appeared in last episodes.

Well to be honest, Kurisu's tsundere actions towards Okabe are mostly because of his actions. How can you possibly admit your feelings towards a self-proclaimed mad scientist who always makes a joke out of all of your intimate moments?

That's why I said that I can understand her partly. There were times when he was acting normal and she still was denying her intentions, she could miss out the last part from time to time.

Also I mostly reffering to 1st part, before all the time traveling.

Oh, the discussion of the jacket has gone down. But, I’m interested in why she wears skirt like that! What is it? It seems, it's a black short mini and a black stocking. And, the skirt is very very short! As Okabe said, she is a perverted girl after all. Or even better: a mad (scientist)!

She's not wearing a skirt, it's shorts. ^^
