I don't know if I should love or hate it about the show, but I do know I find it rather amusing and those death, despite everyone seeing them coming from a mile away, still leave me sad and tearing up.

Yeah, I found it a bit baffling why bother to wait and siege. It would've made sense if Rustal wanted Tekkadan to surrender, but he obviously doesn't and won't accept their surrender as he already told Orga. He just wants to crush them to the last member and has enough forces to do it right away. So I don't get why employ this siege tactic.

As to Iok, I'm hoping against hope that Ogawa meant him. Because you know, the man with the thickest plot armor in this show that was even enough to protect Rustal from Shino's shot (when Iok jumped in front of Rustal to protect him

Like you say, usually a seige is all about surrender. It takes a lot to keep your forces in one spot for an unknown lengthy amount of time and still able to keep all forces inside your seige circle at bay. You expect to get something out of all that. But Rustal just wants to crush Tekkadan, what does he gain by just having his soldiers sit, surround, and wait?

The only thing I can think of is that perhaps he's simply doing it for appearances? He wants the world to think that Gjallarhorn was willing to accept surrender and that Tekkadan refused? Either that, he wants Tekkadan to become so stir-crazy that they strike out in desparation and make it look like they attacked first?

Other than those two choices, its just that Rustal is a sick bastard and he wants to watch the "space rats" squirm and turn on each other, destroying each other as they go insane with the wait.

I am interested in what McGillis is going to do fighting in Bael. They say he will show its true "power" this time, though why they specifically put "power" in quotes, I don't know.

funny while i had a dream that Agnika's mummified corpse was entombed wedged between Bael's Ahab reactors that was exposed after it sustained heavy damage, causing McGillis to laugh maniacally when he realizes that.

Rustal Cares about appearances. He also might want to recover those Gundams in tact.

So I assume Rustal wants to make it look like Tekkadan had a chance to surrender. Thus he is not just going to do the old orbital nuke.

Maybe "power" is in quotation marks because it refers not to fighting power but a different kind of power?

Something like the Trial System as mentioned above, or it can "awaken" (e.g. remove the limiter) other Gundams within the area without needing the pilot to give up anything.

Or maybe an EMP type of weapon that shuts down Ahab Reactors (but having Twin Reactors somehow shields the Gundams from this effect).

Or (pulling this from Wiki) as Bael the demon "has the power to make those who invoke him invisible", maybe that power involved cloaking or invisibility.

Iok survives and leads the 7 stars

but because Iok is an idiot that wears his heart on his sleeve and is incompetent of being shrewd,
he somehow makes things better for people?

Yeah, I'm gasping straws I know. But I'd sill like an ending where the world is a bit better than the start of the first episode.

McGillis has a major death flag next episode if the title is any indication. I'm kinda hoping Galileo will then betray and kill Rustal since killing McGillis would have completed his "purpose" and he'll essentially create his own revolution to remove corruption. Almost a pseudo-Hathaway Flash ending, if you will, if McGillis was Hathaway and Gali was Sleg.

Man, I feel you so. I'm fighting the desire to just drop it to hell and be done with it. I'll make myself watch the last 2 epuisodes just to put the show in the completed list and behind me, but I don't think I care anymore who wins, who loses, who lives or who dies. Orga was an embodiment of hope for the future for those who couldn't have had any future without him, and that hope is cynically killed, and not even in a battle. Yeah, I'm afraid I'm too numb to care anymore, I mean what's the point anymore.

Was nice knowing you though, I always enjoyed reading your comments, as someone who shared a lot of your thoughts and takes.

I'd like to see Gaelio turn his back on Rustal after he managed to kill McGillis, but at this point, I've lost some hopes on his character.. I love Gaelio as a character, but y'know... The writers doesn't seem to know what to do with him besides putting him on a revenge-spree against McGillis.

But hey, I didn't see Orga's death coming, so surprise us, Nagai-san, Okada-san.
