And as for development...Kallen didn't see through Lelouch's lie despite him telling her to live. I can only hope future showings of the duo are...well, better.

Thanks. I added a bit to it so that now, Lancelot destroys Gurren after Lelouch jacks it from Kallen and Lelouch swears revenge on Suzaku for killing his beloved KnightMare.

The whole 'you were my greatest pawn' thing, Var. Kallen knows Lelouch personally more than almost anyone else on the show (the exception I recall being the old C.C., but, alas, she's gone). One would think she would see through that initially, and not require prompting.

yes she does know him better then just about anyone else in the show
and the one thing she knows about him is how little she actually knows him
she was still trying to figure him out in ep 17
and just as she belived she had the answer he goes and does that
and then just as she belived he really is evil he goes and tells her to live on
he's not easy to understand
even more so to those who know him

I don't know, I think Lelouch hit the proper cords to get her to move, he acted perfectly so that she'd live. I'd give more props to Lelouch than deduct from Kallen... and again, that's not what you said. You said that even with his prompting she did not see through him.

I don't know... Suzaku might have her beat there. Heck, he might even have C.C. beat there.

I never said it wasn't... That doesn't change the fact that it became quite obvious when Lelouch says to Live On.

Look at Kallen's face and listen to the tone of her voice. In all the times she has faced death she reverts to as a scared girl with tears in her eyes or squeakier voice. But this time shielding Lelouch she was resolute, she was prepared to die with him even if he said he thought of her as just friends or something, but she laid out her feelings for him and wants to know his response. Lelouch basically spat on her feelings with what he said, it was mainly the attitude and to her feelings that made her walk away but when she overheard his last works it brought her back.
