Ideal Place in US to live in

Hey guys, as a new way to waste time; I was wondering

If you had absolute freedom of choice; within the US where would you want to live and why?

For me I'd like to be anywhere in the BosWos Megalopolis because of the large cities many attractions and nice weather.

Well its hard for me to decide, but Milwaukee has always been a great place to me despite the ridiculous taxes the state gives. Seattle is also a beautiful city and so is St. Louis. For personal reasons I may say Phhiledalphia since well my favorite football team the Eagles play there and the city is rich in great architecture.

I live in Seattle during the summer, and I think it's terrible =P
Everything is SUPER expensive, there are no Super Wal-Marts around for about 50 miles (literally), the roads are horrible, and the people are very snooty in general. And did I mention the rain? We're talking months and months of continuous rain at times. No wonder why Seattle is the US's most depressed city in surveys =X

On the other hand, in Atlanta, where I live right now, the crime rate is ridiculous, traffic is killer, and it's pretty dirty. I think most people are more worried about the crime than anything else.

I used to live in Columbia, SC, and when I was there, I always wanted to get out. I hated small towns then, but now that I've had my share of big cities, I really miss the place.
Ideally, I think the best place to live would be in North Carolina. That's because there are excellent in-state universities, little to no natural disasters, a proximity to nearby big cities, good weather, and a great balance of just about everything else.

Well one of my cousins live in Seattle and I visit him often and I see a very different Seattle.

Well I know what you mean about the rain and streets, but that doesn't really bother me. I like the rain. And I have a very unique taste in what I find to be beautiful. Even a very crappy rundown building can look beautiful to me. Seattle just pertains to a certain taste of mine, but I'd probably never actually live there.

You don't need to tell me about Atlanta... It might be a business hot spot, but after a bit you don't even feel welcome and safe in Atlanta.

1. Relatively few crazy religious people (moderates are fine by me)

2. A literate and educated public

3. A fair amount of forestry...urban sprawls aren't my thing (and if no forestry in or around the city, at least nearby)

4. A place where the arts and sciences flourish

5. A place where the age ratio is balanced out


yep...and its a bit hard to find places that meet the first 3 here in america XD

I live in the DC Area, in Nothern Virginia nice area, but it's hella expensive and the traffic is murder.

Go to school near cleveland, for a big city there is NOTHING there cept for Browns stadium and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Any body been to the Metroplex? I thought about Houston but it's too near the gulf coast for me.

Why?
Because of the fact that tons of my friends are there and that it's a place that rich people live. And with that they aren't worried about how the economy is because they know that it is all an illusion. THey know that if they stop acting normally and stop buying things, saving up money to use in a bad economy, is actually why the economy would go down. So, while the rest of the country is in dispair, it has an almost perfect economy where the unemployment rate is very near to 0%. Which means that I will have a job and that I will live in atleast a good place.

Assuming the topic is asking a serious question, I would say Vermont, the green mountain state. I like quiet. I like green. I also like a place where I can actually see the stars from the comfort of my home and don't have to worry about the snakes.

Well... lets just say "hypothetically" that I knew where the best place to live in the US was.... why would I divulge said information? Wouldn't I just horde it all to myself! I guess my idea of best place to live does not include sprawling metropolis ^^

If I had the choice? LA California, preferably in Santa Monica. I love the weather there, lots of Koreans (LA is as close as you can get to Seoul in the US), and I have a lot of family in LA.
