Spoiler for size:

I like how just 2 years ago Ribbons would be in that same room, plotting his domination on humanity, and Kati and Patrick are in there flirting.

I'm guessing it's Ribbons' room. Kati is the commander of the facility. Only makes sense of the current commander of the facility to have the main room that the previous one used.

Heh. Interesting.

That honestly sounds like something I'd do.

An idea is forming.

Anything with Kati in it cannot be erotic. Having said that, Patrick isn't exactly Mr. Universe either.

I do love the coupling however. One of my favourites in this show and I'm not even the romance watchers of the fanbase.

Well I guess it seems that OOQ's reputation is fast becoming a 'solution towards aliens' kind of icon among certain fans

People seem to be forgetting that the only reason the 00Q worked was because the ELS' initial intentions weren't hostile and the ESF was reacting to what they perceived to be an act of aggression. What if the next alien race to show up has hostile intentions in the first place, or if the ELS came here with hostile intentions?

I was expressing my frustation at the lack of screentime for 00Q rather than seriously expressing the plot in response to a comment about a different movie.

I know. I was expressing a similar frustration about something else. My frustration about the 00Qs lack of screen-time has already been expressed.

Well if 00Q was given more screentime, how would it of gone about battling the els? Would it use it's swords to cut up the els one by one, but that would be very difficult since the els go around in swarms trying to ram into it's targets. I don't think melee combat would be ideal agasint the els and that's what setsuna specializes in.

So I don't think there was much more 00q can do agaisnt the els other then the buster rifle n quantum burst

But that Buster Rifle/Raiser Sword/whatever-it-was could disintegrate millions of the things, or cleave the "planetoid"-type ELS in half.

00 Qan(T) was strong but nowhere near enough to help them win by force. It's not a testament to how weak it is but how strong the ELS really are as a whole. 00 Qan(T) was humanity's best shot militarily.

I think it's deliberately set up like this to show that human's never had a chance militarily in this position and that it was never their best card. They were saved by communicating rather than fighting. They did the right thing by fighting of course to defend themselves, but it was not a battle they could have won by a longshot. The ELS pretty much breaks the power x numbers laws in this shows. They have massive power and in large numbers. Good thing the ELS were reasonable people, I have a feeling it's not always going to be this simple and while it will never be showcased, it would be sweet imagination in my head indeed.

If you had a race of Ali-toids, that's a whole different story and they'll go and just just say "what is this icky sick feeling?"

yeah the buster rifle is indeed very powerful and is probably the most effective weapon agasint the els. You could say 00Q has the highest ELS kill count. Quanta may have killed more els in single shot then any other unit.

What I was trying to say in my previous post was that if quanta were to recieve more screen time , what would it do?. It couldn't fight the els with it's sword weapons for a number of reasons and it doesn't have enough weapons to showcase like the other gundams do.The only weapon it had ,which was effective agasint the els is the buster rifle and not much screentime is needed to showcase it's power and 00q only has a single shot in it I believe. So even if quanta (as powerful as it is) did get more screentime , it wouldn't have many weapons to showcase for us to fill the screentime ,I feel. But I do agree that it is the most effective agasint the els.

I've been wondering, how come the ELS planetoid didn't look look like a giant metal sphere? Why did it look all brown with vines all over it?

The ELS have a sense of aesthetics too, I suppose.

Question is, what were they trying to achieve with such aesthetics. Fear? Awe?

Nothing. The ELS don't know what that appearance would make other races feel. It is as-is, nothing more.
