It's not there is any storyline that could be possibly abrubt in first place. Things just happen.

They were injured before but never needed a priest

Now they saved a random ossan, left, got poisoned, back again, that random ossan is hero level priest that they absolutely need they decided

What is this? Doraemon?

Not really. Before Stark joined, they never got injured and just ran away.

Even then, Stark only got wounded, never poisoned or sick.

Aside from the multi-part chapters, it's always mentioned that several months, sometimes years passes between chapters. It's not like this happened suddenly. It's just that several parts of their journey is uneventful.

@James Rye: What did Fern gift him again? I seem to have forgotten.

Edit: Yeah, Erotora, Shadow5YA is right: no one in their party got poisoned until now so they didn't need a priest.

That's true about uneventful parts of the journey, too.

After fighting the demons, they actually did have a priest heal them. Specially Stark who was the most injured back then.

I don't mind this only small plot conveniece.

I have more issue with the chapter skipped A-B-C introduction to immediate scene Frieren was talking with unknown old man.

Can we stop the "plot convenience" bullshit now? This guy knows what he's doing. He was foreshadowing this stuff even before chapter 23. Why do you think the hero party needed a priest too, despite having Frieren in the group? He was building up to this all along.
