The differences are there because like everything up till now the anime is based on LN not the WN.

That said v8 of the LN which episodes 22-23 cover are the only books with such a fairly signficant difference from the WN since the events there are rearranged.

This is weird, the preview for episode 23 was delayed until tomorrow for some weird reason so I'll post that when it comes out, I hope this doesn't mean White Fox is struggling to fit a huge load of content in the last 3 episodes.

Why would those two things be related?

Isn't the last episode a double episode like the first one?

I don't really think they work on each episode while the season is airing.
Ofc I don't know but I believe they finish a season before airing it. Makes more sense to me honestly.

If shirobako is anything close to reality, I guess that's not true at all

I think it may be that shorter animes are being worked on while they are airing? Like 91 days. Or endlessly ongoing animes.

Not going into too much off topic here.

But for anyone interested, the preview for next episode is out.
Spoiler for episode 23 preview:

This is exactly why I say that on my previous post, glad to see someone who understand that.

Thanks for the preview @KOapps, seems like tomorrow is going to be a nice day that episode looks freaking amazing.

Spoiler for episode 23 preview:
Haha, this time the preview narration was written by Rifujin na Mago no Te, the author of Mushoku Tensei.
(they've been getting various Narou authors to write the previews)

I hope we get to see that finally getting animated.
It's the king of the hill as far as these web novels goes after all.

I also hope it gets animated. I read the whole thing and it's quite a story
