From what ive heard, it seems like tomoyo is kicking ass already :P *waves fanboy flag*

(though im curious as to what this "spectator view" means though its probably best not to be spoilers so i may laugh my ass off first thing whatever it is

)

Now I understand why Sunohara thought Tomoyo was faking her stunts against those delinquents, thanks to the "Spectator's View". Though we've yet to see her trademark "64 Hit Combo".

If you want to talk about why Kyo-Ani "pwns", you only need to look at the opening scene, where the cherry blossom petals fall on Tomoya and Nagisa's head. Now that's quality.

Quite a lot of raw watchers here. I probably won't post this early next time, since CLANNAD is shown at such a late timeslot than Lucky Star. I'm only staying up late today to watch it because it's the series premiere.

Until recently the only thing that came to mind when I heard the word Clannad was that Irish band Enya used to be in who did the theme for Robin of Sherwood...

But I loved Air, and I loved Kanon, so I'm really looking forward to seeing this.

I really don't have a clue about the plot of CLANNAD but I'm counting on KyoAni to make it just as enjoyable as Air and Kanon which will always be firm favorites in my opinion.
The animation is always stunning.

During the OP, as my heart swelled and I almost had to wipe tears from my eyes (especially during the running through the flower-field scene), I thought: they're really going to have to screw this up for me not to love it. For a while there, they almost did. This KyoAni style is always beautiful, but can sometimes be a little emotionless, for me.

But Nakahara Mai (Nagisa) and Nakamura Yuuichi (Tomoya) were great. Their work was great, and their characters were great: full and individual. And I also loved Kuwashima Houko as Tomoyo, and Okiayu Ryoutarou as Nagisa's dad.

I noted that Hayami Saori, the 16-year-old who was so outstanding as Momoka in Touka Gettan, had a part in this episode as a student. KyoAni knows how to find great unknown seiyuu, it appears. Please watch for her: she is a huuuge talent, both speaking and singing.

Loved the first ep did not dissapoint at all. Tomoyo has got to be my 2nd favorite girl only after Nagisa.

Thoroughly enjoyable first ep.
Very impressive visually as one would expect of Kyoto Animation.

Great introductions to the characters with Nagisa's family and Tomoyo's scenes being my favourites. Sunohara was also fun to watch.

Well, I'm going to be watching this. Hopefully I won't get spoiled as the only thing I know about Clannad is its theme: Family.

I quite enjoyed the first episode. I think Kyoto Animation has gotten much better since Kanon.

I felt Nagisa and Tomoyo got more screen time than Kyou and her sister. Other girls were probably left for the next episode... Oh, and Nagisa's dad saying "Okazaki Tomoya Etanol!" almost tipped me off the chair. What else, what else... The ED was very cute, so now I'd like some dango plushies kthx. _

A good anime adaptation will make you remember parts of the game you've forgotten, and this episode definitely did that. The scene with him going back to Nagisa's house felt rushed, but I know it's unavoidable because the anime can't show him going to the dorm for a few days, so it's forgivable. Fuko next episode. YES !

Deathkillz ~ You're dead ^__^* ~ Graphic Designer Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: uk, England Age: 34	Dango ~ dango ~ dango ~ yasashi dango ^_^ A nice start to the series Spoiler: The good - As expected the quality is drool - just looking at the graphix coming from tomoyo is enough to make most people drool The characters are plentiful and unique - especially Sunohara who is just a walking disaster XD First he is used as a ball then he gets his ass kicked - oh boy Its nice to see a complete family for once rather than one where the father usually dies (or isnt present at all) - yep im talking about nagisa's family MILF and a hot blooded father really makes a good combo - and down the line i was hoping the guy would give tomoya an ass kicking for making his wife cry ;__; The story on tomoya's side also looks interesting - showing what a mess his dad has become The not so good - Pacing was a problem imo - Everything was at high speed and so the impact was lessened. Whereas kanon went into depth this first ep seems to focus more on the paths and different girls and so the way it "jumped around" cutting to different scenes made it feel too fragmented. At one point i even forgot how the heck he ended up going into nagisa's house the pacing was so fast - which kinda ruined the mood.
