K-ON: The College Years.

Oh man, I'm gonna wait and assume someone there already thought of this.

Too early. They won't have enough material until the end of the year...so maybe 2012 for K-On 3 and 4...Yui, Mio, Ritsu, and Tsumugi as 3, and Azusa, Ui, Jun, and Sawako as 4.

So... you're saying... the fruition of that... is inevitable?

The manga resumed with the girls in university so the material will be there, and as long as people are buying they'll probably make them.

I'm sure that, if the new manga chapters prove to be a hit once more, a third anime season is sure to follow. Besides, the franchise is still a huge cash-cow, I'm sure the movie will do quite well for an animated feature film and that will probably keep the ball rolling until people (whether that is Kakifly, KyoAni's staff or the fans) get sick of it.

Plus they found a group of singers that people like, plus the actual music going on. If they can manage a third season plus more albums...Pony Canyon is it, will be very happy.

TSR being one cour could be due to the state of the light novels at that time, TSR was based on a two LNs that were pretty much Pt1 and Pt2 of a plotline so it fit together well of course. The rest of the LN may not have been @ a point where you could adapt something without having a decent place for an ending. FMP's now finished I think, so what's the hold up now? Oh right they can push out (still well produced) crap that won't cost as much but will sell way more.

And yes after TSR it is very frustrating seeing what has happened since. I don't have any issue with Haruhi or Kanon 2006 + Clannad but all that other stuff.. the entire Endless 8 debacle and the failure of Munto (I think everyone expected this to be a reboot, not oh here's the ova eps + a few more...) I don't know what to think with KyoAni..

Son I am disappoint.

I'm of the belief that it takes a good year or three of planning plus production time before we see any end result of any decent show.

Ga Rei Zero apparently took 3 years of planning and production work before it aired.

There was also roughly a 3-4 year gap bewteen the 1st Haruhi season and Disapperance movie.

Fumoffu and TSR had about a 2 year gap while Air to Kanon was another 2 years approximately also.

So if going by that logic and assuming that they've only started considering a FMP! continuation now, it should be on track to make its return sometime in the next few years. But then again, this is all baseless thought nonsense and it's as good as any other speculation lol

That summarizes so much. Here's to hoping they'll continue some of their more exciting franchises .

Tomoyo After, duh! That wouldn't be a bad idea. But I heard Planetarian would be short, so it'd be easy to whip something up involving that.

Yeah, Planetarian had absolutely no player interaction, no choices, only one ending, and a total playtime of about four or five hours. Taking into account that a lot of that time is spent reading descriptions of what happens, I'd say adapting that into a 90-minute movie or a 2/3-episode OVA seems entirely possible.

I have never understood why Kyoto should commit to adapting Key's whole product lineup...

IMO K-on manga was much better than the anime (and i actually watched the anime first and really liked it). Lucky Star was only slightly good. Haruhi S2 was too trolling and the art style was annoying. Fullmetal Panic was....., well i hate them... alots. While i couldn't get into most key words like Air/ Kanon/Clannad (didn't really finish any of them)
Still overall, i actually quite like KyoAni, and still probably my favourite studio by this point. I think the S1 of Haruhi got me hooked, while the recent movie was quite a masterpiece. Despite my whining, all of their series were enjoyable more or less (except FMP!!!). Nichijou is hilarious so far and I even thought Munto was underrated until teh ending

Since we did mention. For now, my 2nd favourite studio will go to Shaft. Bakemonogatari was really good. Madoka was almost godly. SZS and Hidamari Sketch unfortunately was spoiled by their 2nd seasons (1st and 3rd season are real good through). Natsu no Arashi is simply not my taste(while did i even follow 2 seasons??). Pani Poni Dash and Akarawa were too random. While i still hate Maria + Holic both seasons unless they change their fomula. This season Denpa was... well.. a tiny disappointed
Their Soredemo Machi Wa Mawatteiru is real good through

Finally PA works. They actually left me a bad first impression with True tears (yeah, you are right, my ship was bloody shot down, that's why). CANAAN then was really underrated. the ending was not so great but it's still one of the real anime IMO.
Do you believe that i actually hate Angel Beats even when i have this sign? I think they tried too hard to be dramatic when they are not, that's why. Hanasaku Iroha so far is mixed emotions through

Listed all of them out just to make my final point: Even when no studio really constantly with their good production, overall, Kyoani is still my favourite studio, only slightly ahead Shaft through. But then not everyone who like KyoAny was for their moeblobs

Gimme a 26-episode season of just Endless Eight. That would be awesome.

No thank. Eight was bloody enough

I don't think anyone else can pull it off, make me watch another 8 episodes (or heck even 3) of the same anime episode ever again. Even KyoANi. Even Haruhi

I think Akito's mistaken, there's actually a male cast in Honey & Clover lol

I wish we had MORE college setting series of any kind... drama or comedy. Or more workplace settings (REC, Working!, Hataraki Man, etc)
