Because the game was supposed to be released two months later, so the collector wasn't made in time.
So by selling it only on the Nintendo Store, they can send you the game in July, then the rest of the Collector (artbook and all) two months later. A normal store wouldn't do that and you'd have to wait two months to get your game. |

Another day, another opportunity to watch nintendo.com crash from people trying to preorder XC3 Special Edition in NA. Preorders will be live sometime today...

I'm quite late to the Xenoblade party, but my current XBC2 playthrough makes me wish that XBC3's villains are better balanced from a powerlevel PoV than Jin and Malos. Because these two are ridiculous (even though I effng love every "corny" cutscene moment with Counterattack/Action Battle? as its BGM), similar to the "monsters" in Trails of lol.

Near the end of Chapter 4 40 hours in and goddamn this game can be relentlessly dark and depressing. Moments of levity are few and far between, and most of the time entirely optional.
I am told chapter 5 is worse. Shit. Such a brutal tonal shift from the first 2 games. This feels more like Xenogears,

I'm just under 130 hours in and am still exploring. Should probably hurry up and finish the story at some point soon.
IMO Chapter 5 was really well executed, and honestly I really love the tone especially compared to XC2. I'm not sure what to compare it to but it sort of reminds me of a lot of different things, like Nier Automata, Macross, Starship Troopers, etc. |

I really enjoyed this game. The main story has a couple of shortcomings in my opinion. But the character writing for the main cast in this game is just astoundingly good. I teared up a number of times playing through this game. I'll cherish those two weeks for a long time to come.

Don't forget we're getting a Torna in another year or so... it seems likely to be an epilogue rather than a prequel this time but I guess we'll see.
Eunie is MVP and/or best girl and its not even close. Sena actually grew on me more than expected doing Ascension quests. |

Finally, FINALLY finished the game after multiple RL obligations and interruptions. (and I did do a semi-completionist run) Yet another solid entry into the Xenoblade series. Despite Eunie’s best girl energy, I am still a strong shipper of Noah and Mio as my favorite couple. Fortunately Eunie has her own man…..
Truth be told I was disappointed in the ending…..but not in a “I hate it” way, not exactly at least. After we got our perfect, magical, miracle endings for both Xenoblade 1 and 2, I definitely was hoping for Spoiler for Ending and potential DLC:
And when I said I wanted to see the future lives of the previous Xenoblade crews……..I certainly never expected them to go that far. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever would I have expected that. Spoiler:
