Dunno about her, but we gotta have Yui Ichikawa in at least a cameo. Maybe as Ichijo?

She could be either Ichiyo or Akane.

Touch is great, but I would also recommend Slow Step as an antidote to Adachi withdrawal. I'm rewatching it today. It has softball and boxing instead of baseball, and it is only 5 episodes long, but I like it quite a bit.

By sheer force of habit, the first thing I do every Monday when I get home is check for subs of Cross Game. It was then I remembered that there's no Cross Game this week. This has been my habit for the last 10 months.

This is gonna be an excruciating week.

I'm pretty tempted to just go and read the manga right now......but I know that I'll regret it later when I don't have a new CG episode to look forward to and be surprised by each week.

Hell, it's not that bad. I went ahead and started reading the manga after the very first episode and I still love almost every single second of every episode.

You'll regret if you read the manga right now.

Because you'll marathon reading it from the first to the latest chapter in 2 days, then find out that the next chapter is on its break, and will continue again on Jan,20th.

Yeah, it'd seem the mangaka is keen on having a simultaneous manga and anime ending given the sheer quantity of breaks he has taken as of late. Meaning, other than getting ~8-10 episodes worth of anime material if you read the manga you won't gain much in terms of getting a faster fix.

I've actually been thinking about that possibility, because the timing of it could conceivably work out. I'm trying to remember an instance where we had a simultaneous manga/anime conclusion, and I haven't come up with anything - anyone? I'm not sure it's ever happened but it would certainly be sugoi if it happened with CG.

BTW, I didn't hear much reaction about the return of th3 Coach Daimon. Hey, it could be the Cross Game equivalent of the empire strikes back.

Never really cared much about him, he's a bit simplistic of a character, and doesn't pique my interest in any way.

Well, he's the closest Cross Game got to a clear antagonist, so you'll have to make do with him.

The Nodame Cantabile franchise seems to be ending in a similar fashion.
