You're talking about Acnologia.

Zeref main goal in this war is still to find a way to died through the progress of war. Turned up various things ended up not going according to plan.
After disappointed by Natsu power level, majority of Spriggan already defeated, now her former girlfriend is on her way to met him while one of his subordinate, Eileen, tried to end the war by her own method, definitely not something he's looking forward as someone who started the war for his own purpose hence surprised at how things going on.

Many of us have come to the same conclusion It might as well be his next direction after FT - the difference compared to his previous works is enormous...and I don't think it can all be attributed to fanservice requirements (I'd say it's a fact that FT has too much of it).

It's in Magazine Special, a monthly magazine. And it doesn't even come close to being borderline H.

I'm still bothered about Mest.

Makarov of all people trusted him with the secrets about disbanding Fairy Tail.
To me, what Mest just did was complete opposite of what Makarov was trying to do.
Makarov at least wanted to reason with the enemy first than fighting them to the death.
And Mest here was waiting for the enemy to lower his guard then failed his assassination without trying to dirty his own hands with his hearts closed.
Maybe the results could have turned differently if Makarov was with Natsu's party for negotiating.

But, I also feel bad for Mest, to be shaken most of the time when they were traveling alongside Brandish, since he was in the Magic Council for a long time, worked separately with Fairy Tails.
I wonder if this is out of some habit of being a former Magic Council?
To me, it is more surprising that if Natsu and Lucy actually believes that negotiation will succeed.
