Hmmm, my favorite arc? Well I wouldn't call it my favorite but I enjoyed when future Trunks first showed up and him and Goku were showing off their new powers The Frieza arc was a classic, that really felt helpless considering how many times Frieza could power up That is, until I saw Goku transform XD

As for my favorite arc, I would have to say that the Frieza arc was also my favorite along with the Cell saga. Gohan's transformation after what happened to 16 really helped that arc become one of my favorites.

I like the Android Saga for it's retro feel, plus the costume designs for 17 and 18 were very much to my liking. Also, Piccolo vs 17 is one of my favorite fights from the franchise.

As for my favorite arc, i'd have to go with the Freeza one. Seriously, it brought the story to a whole new level.

Although Frieza Saga is classic and I'll always love it, somehow my favorite one is Android Saga up to the end of Perfect Cell saga. I love Trunks and seeing him in those chapters was really entertaining. Some great fights ( Piccolo VS Android 17) and Gohan transforming in front of everyone was nicely done, and besides all of the important crew was there.

The part when Frieza comes back after everyone thought he was dead and just lifts Kuririn up into the air killing him was awsome, if it wasn't for him dieing then Goku would have never even gone Super-Saiyan and prolly woulda wiped to Frieza i would assume anyways<.>

Constant physical training makes Goku look muscular, but living quietly with his family for a few years seems to weaken him considerably. That would explain why Piccolo was able to develop Makankosappo to defeat Goku.

Mystic Gohan is the strongest un-fused character in the whole Dragon Ball series, thus he is indeed stronger than SSJ3 Goku. There are quite a few ways to prove this to be true, but I'll give you the simplest reason. Remember when Goku arrived on earth to fuse with Gohan using the potara earrings? At that time, there was a little bit of time left before the fusion of Gotenks dissolved inside of Buu. Once it dissolved, he lost a lot of power and this was shown by him taking on Piccolo's clothing appearance. At that point, Goku said "I'm disappointed. Gohan himself could beat you now". If Goku was really stronger than Gohan, wouldn't he have been confident that he himself could take on Buu instead of Gohan? That tells you that he wouldn't be able to defeat Buu in that state, whereas Gohan could. I hope this answers your question.

But that's where it gets confusing

1. If gohan is indeed stronger than goku or vegeta would think about the idea of calling gohan back to fight the final buu
2. vegeta in the manga says goku is the strongest XD (if my memory serves me right)
3. goku constantly "underestimates" himself during the buu saga (against every buu...even fat buu!!!) The reason is he wants the kid to fight (he says that when he is about to fight the final buu)..but that reason is so weak
4. and goku never fights buu with his ultimate power in SSJ3

This is why I don't enjoy the buu saga as much as other arc..the power level is kind of confusing..compared to other arc, the power level in other arc is much much clearer..I know it's a kai series, nothing major will change but I would it would clarify a bit lol

Anyways Gohan's transformation was just one of the best things I saw from the show. Just the high point of all that development over all the other episodes. The young son taking the reigns as the defender of the planet. Just wish they had stuck to that and let Gohan stay on top of things.

But the reasoning of this guy (from the video) seems flawed IMO, because it takes Goku's words as face value, when it's obvious to me that Goku is not being totally honest (like when he tells Piccolo he couldn't beat Fat Buu), as he's always trying to push his children to fight instead of him. At this point is clear to me that he feels he's no longer the one who should fight to save the Earth anymore, but rather the next generation; this is IMO one of the major themes of this arc.

Now, I'm not saying that Goku is the strongest, but I think there's no conclusive evidence to prove he isn't either.

Well my thoughts on the Buu arc which in all honesty is probably my least favourite arc out of all DBZ.

Now I know Goku's not the most shrewdest guy in the pack and its its naivety and pure heart that gives him his endearing qualities...but the plot devices used to allow more battles to continue make Goku look like one of the most incompetent, idiotic heroes out there...even for a shounen action.

He alone could have ended every bad guy that was on the scene at the time, but his holding back here and there literally lead to the destruction of the world and what was like a good portion of the universe..!? Seriously the Dragonballs makes the story too forgiving to this guy.

First it was with his battle with Vegeta, and then letting Fat Buu off the hook with his first SSJ3 transformation, and then it picking Mr Satan INSTEAD of his own son Gohan, and then playing around with his lower transformation to allow Vegeta to have a go. I mean Giving Cell a sensu bean is one thing...but the stuff in the Buu Arc jeeze...

I know technically its not his fault...since its what ever the author wants...but the view you get of Goku...well you know...

Thats why the Cell and Android arc are the best in my books...the story is pretty tight! While there is a bit of a failed taunting by Vegeta at one point but all in all the good guys fought the bad guys at their maximum, and didnt lose because they held back but because heck...they werent strong enough...but hell did they try!!!

I don't know about that being a major theme for the whole arc. Though suppose they were trying to do that at the end of the Cell saga and again in part of the Buu part. In the end they just had to have Goku fight the final battle. Wishing back the Earth had a perfectly capable replacement in Gohan just standing there being wasted. Not just wasting, but actually using less powerful fighters. Sure he wouldn't have won with a shiny spirit bomb, but I could have lived with it. Guess the saiyan blood for competition overwhelmed their senses in what would be best for life as we know it.

Personally just wish they had put up a sign saying "Gohan is the strongest character with no fusion involved!" I guess the question is how much stronger do people think Goku is than Gotenks? Gohan was clearly put as a class above Gotenks, don't think many would be arguing against that. Now can be reasonable differences between characters on the same SSJ level, but don't think it's so incredible that Goku would be stronger than Gohan. Don't have the episodes on hand to go through footage, but it's what I think.

Would like to say I'm unbiased, but hard to completely seperate yourself from these things.

I think for raw power Gotenks wins..I mean the fusion of two half Sayains...thats a powerhouse right there.

But for fighting capability Goku ssj3 has the edge...he has the fighting experience, the mentality (theres no goofiness to his fighting when he's serious) and the never-give-up attitude.

Personally Gotenks its an overrated Z fighter, well at least they way Goku was praising them to be. I mean sure hes powerful but he isn't on the badass level of Cell Gohan or even Future Trunks with sword.

confused power level in this arc..the reason why anyone types "SSJ3 Goku and Gohan" in google and it will come up with millions pages of comparison between them just shows that the power level in this arc is confusing...you don't see that in Freezer arc or Cell arc

And I like Goku when he is serious about saving the universe...gohan looking goku at his back, while goku is in his super sayian form, shoulders the fate of the whole universe, faces the huge monster Freeza alone, is just so cool and this is the goku I love (I think kai series also shows this footage on OP!!)

So even tho I really enjoy his SSJ3 form, I still find the story of this arc the weakest of the entire series, and it brings down the overall character's charm of goku..but vegeta's charm actually goes up in this arc XD

And yeah, I always like goku so it is no secret for me to try to find evidence that goku is stronger than gohan in buu saga even tho I know very clearly that the other camp's evidence does seem very reasonable at times...thanks for the video GDB!!!

In Japan, the ENTIRE SERIES is divided into just 4 arcs, though. Vegeta, Freeza, Cell and Boo.
