Hey! It worked for Gargoyles!

The spellcasters there at least sounded cool when speaking Latin

I just finished reading the fan anticipation thread. Ugh…

Latin? Hrmm… thinking maybe Hebrew wouldn't be too bad either.

Oh wow congratulations. 3k posts certainly is no mean feat(I started in the middle, even with the fanboyism that accompanied the gratituity of watching ep12 the first time)

We need harsh languages for the devices. Russian maybe? That would be kickass IMO, maybe for the mages with square arrays or something.

Hrmm… just noticed. The gun Teana has (right now) is a storage device called "Anchor Gun". Oddly enough, I don't remember this being mentioned here.

Probably because all the attention was being paid towards Cross Mirage?

Cross Mirage looks way cooler(+ points for dual wield), but the anchor gun wins in...well...the anchor. A great way to get around. Not to mention its pimped in (mock) battle already.

*Idea hatches* If Cross Mirage had a melee ability in the form of an extendable energy blade from the barrel a la Bardiche (like Zeta Gundam's beam rifle) and Tiana held it like Chip Zanuff from the Guilty Gear series i.e. the blade running along the outside of the forearm...

*stops fantasizing*

A beam pistol with a beam tonfa? Sounds cool to me.

Perhaps she has picked up a skill or two from Natsuki with the time she spent in Mai-Hime

Heh, if she did learn some of those tricks then she must have taught Subaru... Just add one more word to Subaru's "Load Cartridge"

Now that I think about it, all three of the rookie girls have a part of Natsuki.

Teana has the guns.
Subaru has the cartridge.
Carol has the frost.

Carol's name is french right? So that one's possible... (Wait, is it an intelligence device to begin with? I forgot...)

Unsure about Russian... Maybe for the drones ... Or the 'mysterious' girl (sorry, I can't spell her name...)

Btw, what's the name of Erio's weapon again? And which language is it in?

Strada.

Italian.

Strada means Road in Italian.

Doesn't it speak English? Or maybe it only does English when Erio copies Fate's move...the rest should be German, given the fact that its an Armed Velka device and it shares the same voice actor as Eisen and Laevatein.

Thanks

With a name like that, he's probably not going to fly anytime soon... (Sure it might be just symbolic...)

EDIT:

Nightengale probably means that the name Strada is Italian...

I can think of one reason why it's not speaking german. Eisen and Laevatein were probably made by some ancient dude (The one that created the book...), while Strada is more 'modern', so it would have a different... 'Operating system'.

*waggles a finger in the air*

and hence the term Neo-Velka for the new mages, unless that term was a fan-creation?

Are the knights considered using Old or modern Velka? If they're using 'old' Velka (Remeber, they're not humans so maybe the TSAB didn't include them in the list) then it's safe to say that old Velka devices speak german...

The Knights are Ancient-Velka, same as the Saint Church trio. Due to their status as "programs", they are not considered as part of the "three known users" since they are more or less extensions of Hayate herself.

Erio and Subaru use Modern-Velka, which is considered a less extreme version of Ancient-Velka.

Cheers.
