From what I'm gathering, the OVAs will be "finishing" the story of our good old crew, but the series is still a big question mark.

I can only assume it will be a mix but leaning more on other JFW. I don't think they'll be going away completely even with an OVA series dedicated to them.

Yeah, I think it's pretty unlikely too. I certainly wouldn't like to see Trude going away myself.
