Ninja Gaiden II

I'm surprised there was no thread for this game. o_O

Personally. I can't wait for its release tomorrow! I'm so pumped after beating Ninja Gaiden Black on Master Ninja last month.

Bah at ninja games that have nothing to do with what ninjas do.

But the DS game was fun. Don't expect any more replies, because my thread for the DS game was isolated.

This is what happens when you don't play the original I got my ass whooped big time in "warrior" mode

ATM, I've just gotten the hang of counters and dodges... I'm still cheap shotting them with the Flying Swallow

And I agree, off with their heads!

Only 7 posts for the beat em up of the year? I'm telling you the Wii destroyed gaming. ~(><~) I so want this ported to the PS3. That's not to much to ask is it, seeing the original got ported too? =o

Maybe it'll happen, since X-Box fanboy, leader of Team Ninja, Itagaki, quit.

I laughed when I heard this.

He didn't get a bonus on game royalties that some guy promised him so he quit and sued 1.4 million dollars in yen.

Itagaki will probably go independent (along with some close colleagues), like many other renowned developers. With that kind of track record, he should have no problem securing future publishing deals.

As for the Tecmo situation, bear in mind that we only have one account (which is uncharacteristically blunt and self-serving by Japanese standards) of what happened. I somehow doubt Itagaki is faultless, and given his ego, I wouldn't be surprised if he became increasingly unmanageable/difficult to work with over the years.

All he ever did was revolutionize boob physics and stealth-less ninjas.

Well Ninja's with stealth just aren't as awesome as stealth-less ninja's. Well Ninja gaiden is still pretty much the only action adventure with beat-em-up fighting dept. Though DMC is fun it just isn't as good as Ninja gaiden.

No matter how good he is, companies are very wary of hiring people that sue their prior companies.

Anyway, I got the game a few days ago~ I've never played a Ninja Gaiden before and it seems pretty cool! Took some practice to start lobbing off heads but it was worth it xD
I only got a few hrs in but it seemed solid to me

They could've at least added a PINCH of stealth so that you could make at least a FEW death-from-above/behind/below/around the corner kills. Scaling buildings and mountains is fun too.

In the beginning of chapter 9 there's a cutscene where Ryu hides from a patrol boat by going underwater. Then he climbs onto the shore and the level begins. Instant ninja fighting! What was the point of him hiding in the first place?

Maybe if he didn't have his demon-fragging dragon sword, he'd consider avoiding fights.
