Wow, thanks a lot you guys. I had read the full text but didn't recall anything which would cause such a reaction as this 16.5. My gratitude to you automated safety systems. But of course seeing you guys go on about it just had to make me go back and double check.
... ... So just wondering, 2 cour? That means it's unlikely they'll be able to make much of a resolution considering the end of the first Aincrad arc right? How much hope does that make for a sequel?

*is SHOT* Also, I'm betting SAO gets an S2 just for how popular it is, which should be enough to resolve most of the major arcs for the anime.

^ S2 will have to wait a few years then until Alicization comes out (say about 3 years?), because from the voice cast, I can see that GGO will be animated. 2, 7 and 8 are OVA materials, so S2 will be about Alicization only.

Yeah, Shinon from the Phantom Bullet arc also had VA announcements as well. But only for the drama CD though (despite the anime uses the same VA as the drama CD). I still don't see Phantom Bullet arc being animated for the first season. I think the Fairy Dance arc is the limit for the first season because the anime will include many side stories from Volume 2 and 8 for Aincrad arc.

Also people need to stop with the oneupmanship. Both show trailers IMO look pretty great so who gives a shit which is slightly better or not. At this stage it's a moot point. |

Yep, definitely the character designs looks a bit out of place. But it depends on how serious the series is. Looking at the PV it seems not so serious in the first place. But probably it is just caused by the designs.
Anyways, it is in my watch list, even if it remind me of The Sacred Blacksmith and/or Tower of Druaga. But hopefully it will be far better

Don't know about Higurashi but Madoka Magica's character designs were purposefully made that way as part of the deconstruction so it does actually contribute to the story in a minor way.

I'm fine with Kirito's design because
Spoiler for potential spoiler?:
I'm more bothered by Asuna's design though, and while I can't exactly put my finger on it, I think it's how wide they made her head. But I also dislike how much the manga adaptation changed her design. I prefer the way abec drew it in the LN...

I'm perfectly content with how Kirito and Asuna's designs are drawn in the anime. After getting a good look at the L/N art, I’ve come to the conclusion that I pretty much like the anime and the L/N designs equally; it's the manga art I absolutely loathe.
I did cringe at the expression Kirito had on his face whilst sundering the boss-like foe in the PV; it just seemed a little funny.. |
