Guys, i have a stupid question, but...

How to translate names in english? E.G. "Battler" is written in japanese like "Battora", then why "Battler"?

I think the way they write 'Battora' in japanese, the kanji means 'fighting person'... well it does in chinese, so I'm assuming its the same in jap

Any japanese speakers feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...

It's correct, plus the romanizations of most names are official, meaning that Ryukishi himself decided so. You will never see in any japanese video any romanization different from "Battler" or anything that differs from what witch hunt used for the main cast of the 18 people. The problem comes for other characters where an official romanization wasn't disclosed, but since in most cases they are references to existing names from occultism, myths (and divine comedy) you still have a pretty solid foundation.

BTW it's "Batora" not "Battora" ^_-

For your instance, we do have official romanization for the characters aside of the 18. It was provided to us by BT when we were trying to get an inquiry about 縁寿, because of the whole wikipedia issue with UMG 4.

First time poster, long time Guest Lurker, but down to it.

There is something that has been bothering me since episode 9 of the anime, and I don't know if it has been addressed. Does Meta-Battler exert some kind of limited control over Piece-Battler?

Yes and no. It's believed that Piece Battler's emotions are influenced by Meta-Battler, but Meta-Battler can in no way communicate with his piece form nor control his actions.

And I say yes, although he can't make piece-Battler do what he can't do (like knowing that there is a metaworld and that there were other games). So leave it as: "we don't know, there isn't any definitive answer".

It's even more fun in the novel because there are/were sometimes when meta-batler ois telling piece batler to "do this you dumb guy", while there are other times when piece batler's action are a direct consequence of meta batler's desires.

It's possible that Meta-Battler can only cause Piece-Battler to take actions that are realistic for his situation, that is, he can't cause Piece-Battler to gain knowledge that he can't know or to act on said knowledge.

You can only move a piece according to what piece it is on the game board. If Battler is the King, his movement is very limited.

IIRC the only time Battler seemed to have an influence over Piece Battler was when Rosa was blaming Kanon for Jessica's murder. Then again, that knowledge wasn't impossible for Battler to know.

If you think Bernkastel is Frederika Bernkastel and Lambdadelta was behind the mastermind of higurashi then yes. If not, it's a previous battle whose nature was never disclosed
