So in the end, ep 193 was more about the girls arguing about who their husbandos are than actual cooking

I was thinking it's been a while since we had a segment after the ending, and bam, Ben Johnson talk and one of those gay DVD covers with Hijikata and Gin again. Even though they troll us pretty much every year like this, I think they might actually be serious about the show ending this time. Damn you, Gintama team, toying with me like this

I don't read the manga, though personally it seems like an anime only thing, especially the whole scene after the ED, talking about how the show is going to end, and how they'll stop it from ending. It's a very Gintama thing to do, joking about how a JUMP adaptation can dodge the reasons behind adapting a weekly series.

But yeah i can't blame you for thinking this time it's the truth, especially with the countdown, and the talk about it ending after a film. There's a little voice in the back of my head telling me it'll end when they say, though i know deep down i shouldn't believe it. I don't want to believe it.

Maybe its a countdown on how much is anime adaptation getting real close to the manga?

I can see its a bit close right now, and seeing how the author is making 1 story = 2+ chapters, its going to be a wait to have anime presentation per story.

But then again, this is one anime I can see to go ok without copying through the manga....oh well.

Gintama never ends

It's actually the only long-running gag series I got, and exactly because every episode is...well, episodic or in the form of mini-arcs, it can go on indefinitely. In a normal anime one would seek an ending arc (Amanto and humans living together/fighting the next war, whatever) but then again it's very Gintama-ish to end it out of the blue, which is like a joke on us...except I'd like my Gintama next week too

Kamui works well with humor if you ask me, and those little shorts shown it. Saying that, it was all about the other two.

Those Bebop Kamui shorts were very, very funny. The actual episode had me laughing so hard. I love how it started of as something normal, and as each minute went by, it just leveled up in madness. Until we get to the end, and find out that Kondo has been a snot alien all along (was a dream in the end by Hijikata). Hijikata was priceless in this episode though. First the Tarzan jokes were something, though using summoned creatures from the Final Fantasy series. What an episode. I'll never think of snot in the same way ever again. So next weeks episode looks like it starts the new arc, featuring the characters from the OP. & what's this? The one woman Gintoki has always worshiped is the black haired new character? __________________ MyAnimeList Twitter

Then as soon as the snot kicked in I lost it I'm surprised they actually pulled out a Double Dragon reference, since that series is pretty old and hasn't received an update in a while. Maybe the writers secretly hope for a sequel (which I wouldn't mind). Only seven more episodes till the "end"...I bet that'll be another troll attempt. You won't fool me again __________________

The humor was seriously off the wall in this episode, especially with that whole phone scene, with the Mother dying, and then finding out it was all an act by Gedomaru to fool the enemy. Funniest scene in this episode by far was during Gintoki's speech, and Yamazaki pointing out that they don't have any blinds . I laughed so so hard at that. Favorite scene had to be Gintoki's second speech on how Ketsuno Ana's smile helps him each day. Such a sweet line, and classic Gintama at the same time. Oh and there's about three new pieces of music in this episode, which i liked a lot. Still waiting for that fourth soundtrack release! As for the new characters, Gedomaru looks like she's going to be a right laugh, and Semei seems pretty badarse, especially being voiced by Midorikawa Hikaru. Just hope we get a little bit more Ketsuno Ana in this arc. __________________ MyAnimeList Twitter
