Today is a sad day...I'm nearly caught up T_T (3 eps back)... I watched as many eps as I've wanted to watch for almost a year now..It has been so great, but now I have to become a crackhead like everyone else waiting for that once a week fix...

I've always felt a special bond to series I sorta marathoned versus those once a week ones. I wish I had that opportunity with Gintama. I probably only watched like 20 episodes straight when I first started. Then there followed an awful period when nobody subbed the show.

I rarely marathon anything more than like 5 eps, but the feeling of being able to watch a fresh Gintama whenever I wanted was a great feeling...It's such a nostalgic show for me with it's mid90's animation and homages to so many memorable shonens from the past...It brings me back to when i first started watching lots of anime...It's such a feel good show in so many ways, with SERIOUS episodes that rival the best from any of the other current big boys (Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, etc.)...I knew this day would come, and i feared it^^...Oh well...

Doman. ;______;

I was expecting a back story that would be pretty hard hitting, though to find out Doman just wanted to be friends with Seimei and feel in love with Ana.. what a tragic story. Very nicely told though, what with the flashback to how the battle started between the two families, together with all of Doman's story.

No surprise Gintoki jumped in at the end, and it was pretty damn epic as expected. looking forward to seeing how this one will end next week.

This is both awesome and hilarious. They went deep into the background of the Ketsuno/Shirino clan, and Doman's story was pretty sad indeed. His flashbacks with Chrystel and the sanitary napkins were pretty funny though, what the hell?

The fairy tale-like story reminded me of Monster, especially since this one included people turning into monsters. I love those kinds of narrations though:P Seimei's match was cool, Doman going darkside was foretold and much anticipated, as was Gin jumping in to save the day right in the last second...but it was awesome anyway! Can't wait for next week, the shit's hitting the fan again~

Pretty good episode. Seimei had a nice line toward the end:
"Fate is beyond our control, Doman. I may know a thousand different spells, but I don't know a single way to make up with a friend."
Pretty good stuff.

I also raised an eyebrow during the Ketsuno/Shirino backstory when the dude slew his older bro and the princess/wife. The simple animation really created a jarring juxtaposition with the bluntness.

Very touching episode, and a very nice end to this great arc.

Was pretty shocked there for the moment thinking Doman had died, what with his outstanding speech while Ana was doing the weather forecast, though i'm glad he survived. Most touching scene had to go to Ana's speech right at the end, thanking Gintoki. There's a few lines i'm never going to want to forget.

After the credits, we get a very lol discussion from our main three regarding the upcoming Benizakura film. Gin and Kagura's version were so funny , though in the end it was just a way to try and sell the manga.

Only a few episodes left...

Agreed with you on everything here, but I knew Doman wasn't dead, didn't seem like Gintama's style to kill him after everything that's happened and his big redemption. Very nice end to this great arc, now the downside is... no more Gedomaru? Sad...

Is that Umibozu as Santa in the next ep? I'm sure this is going to be hilarious
