I watched 12 episodes before I lost my interest. The humor was pretty weaker than I was told. They say it gets better later on but it was a real bummer to have such a bad first impression. Comedies usually start with a bang.
Also, the resolution to each problem was quite lame as well. All Gintama does is appear in the last moment, jumps in the air, hits or throws something and that's it. All the supposed drama or problem of the episode becomes useless this way.
This is a series I will not miss.

That was a absolutely hilarious episode, and a perfect send-off for this series.

So many great jokes, though the one that had me laughing the most was the whole Texas joke . Oh and of course, how all the stories tied in together at the end with Kagura falling in love with Hasegawa . Love how it turned into a love story in the end. Very funny.

Oh, and 1.2. Sa-chan was pure genius.

So yep, it's over. These four years have been A+ fantastic, and now it's over.

well I hope someday Sunrise will finish this anime (when the manga is ended) just like another anime

Oh well, I guess it's time to finally rewatch the series. Hopefully, it'll be back on air by the time I catch up again. I'll also jump on the manga later on, I'm still waiting to see if the new timeslot will really have reruns or not, I'll be in denial until then (they're making a huge deal of it on the official site too)

Overall I liked the episode but it seems to me the end of the series (for now) was as unexpected for them as it was or us. I would think a more appropriate ending would include more characters. I was saddened by the lack of Katsura, Elizabeth, Hijikata, Sougo, and OF COURSE Baka-Oji.

FFFFFFF - this is so depressing The episode made me laugh hard enough to be a burden to everyone else in the same room though, the ending was truly amazing (yes, Girlfriend xD). Gotta wonder if there will be more once the manga runs ahead....sure hope so. I sure enjoyed those gour years, hope everyone else loved it just as much!

Well, it's not like it's THE end. It will come back sooner or later, that's for sure.

Cockroach Hasegawa kind of stole the show in this episode. The dad's story in the texas segment was just hilarious, and that ending was just... expected from Gorilla I guess

The last story was the best for me, with a nice twist at the end. And Ichigo Sa-chan... I'd watch that show.

Bah! I wanted them to at least do the New Years chapter, since it references the Santa "arch" in one of the jokes. Plus, it shows a lot of the various characters from throughout the series.
