Touma is quite literally oblivious to romance....though index is quite clearly the most important person in his life...that's about all that can be said...

Accelarator's scene was pretty cool though .
There's more Mikoto because she's the most popular Index character. That might change though if more female otakus start watching/reading Index. I'm pretty sure Accelarator is big with the girls as Mikoto is for the guys.

All things considered, both Touma and Accelerator are very popular as well... Not many Animes have their male characters as memorable as their female characters.

(Unless it's shounen manga, which is a different creature altogether)

lol, actually the most popular character in this series is touma. Cant find the chart but he's up there.

It might be tru about fan girls liking accelerator, we got one in here yukirosuzuka always post accel images in the image thread .... Sometime yaoi too

Well some of my thoughts...

- The whole "punishment" thing with Touma and Mikoto is really amusing to watch because one is shy to expressing feelings and the other is just plain dense about it. To make it even more interesting, throw the big bad wolf (Kuroko) to ruin the so-called "punishment" with her own antics.
- The "let me rub you Fukiyose" part is funny because I'm pretty sure it wasn't suppose to come out that way but knowing Touma well, that's also part of his misfortune .
- The Misaka kept repeating Misaka over and over is a little annoying I know I am and it's driving me nuts but that maybe part of their charm or maybe they should just reserved it to Last Order.
- Well, I guess there's always a first one not being the same of the many (i.e. the other Misaka going on diet and having a different figure than the others).
- Seeing Accelerator not being aroused seeing 2 naked matured women (take note I didn't say older ) makes me think that his brain might have more damaged than I thought but of course that is his personality anyway

If we separate between male and female Mikoto won in year 2010,2011
Touma won in year 2011

Mikoto won the Super Best Moe Tournament recently considering that tournament had heavy female voters(Though with lots of help from the male characters.) She did get 5000+ votes in ISML too as a runner-up. Plus she would've won AST too if Azunyan wasn't there (IMO). Though all of these are internet-based popularity contests so the credibility isn't as high. I think the polls you people are talking about are the Dengeki ones which a lot of people say are rigged (or maybe I read too much Sankaku Complex).

I don't have a link but there was a survey in which if you had a baby what would you name him/her. I think Touma and Mikoto got the highest votes.

I would think that someone like Kanzaki or Itsuwa would be more popular among male readers.

My personal favorite, Laura, will be in the next episode. Woman in power and a huge troll? Can't beat her.
