Episode 90 Screencaps and Summary

Cool fighting episode with Renji going ban kai and beating Gesell. Ichigo also gets his arse handed to him by Kariya who also reveals that the Bount target is actually Soul Society, not Hueco Mundo.
So I'm actually a little excited now about this episode and particularly next episode (from the preview which had lots of juicy shots).

Please do not discuss anything past episode 90, or else you risk a ban. Don't even post future episode titles. Even [spoiler=manga] [/spoiler] tags are no defense.

My preliminary thoughts before watching this episode.

Spoiler:

1. The first half gives me the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters feel with Ugaki controlling Gesell's fighting via the deck of cards.
BTW, Ugaki squashed by his own doll. Look like he forgot to be mild-mannered and polite; another down and five more Bount left, including Kariya.

2. Renji going Bankai. Zabimaru roars again.

3. What's also interesting about the Bount they are shifting their sights on targetting SS, a refreshing twist for the filler storyline.
Their age won't come if don't eliminate the obstacles hindering their path, and SS is the prime threat to them all. It makes sense now the tunnel.

It wasn't a bad episode although the art/animation fluctuates. Next week looks like the beginning of the end, so it should be interesting. The renji part was pretty good especially the bgm while he was fighting.

As for this episode, IMO, it was great!

Some bumps on the road, but generally speaking it was really entertaining...

Is it just me, or is the monster thing that came out looked like the thing summoned from Naruto? XD

Not really judging from the ep titles(not mentioning any because of future ep discussion rules). The Bound are apparently moving to SS because of the gate. It'll get better with the reappearence of bankai though, if it's any consolation.

Well, for the first time I have to agree with people who claim that the filler doesn't seem to belong in the series. This episode was totally out of character: Renji won a fight?!?! Arienai! That just isn't possible.

Seriously, it was great to see Renji kick some butt for the first time. I always believed that he had it in him. This makes the whole arc worthwhile!

Ichigo is getting powned again and again instead... in the anime and in the manga as well. This is becoming quite depressing

Indeed. Unfortunately the promo gives away waaaaaay too much. Still it was easy to guess that was about to happen. Ichigo was obviously either going to bankai or die.

Ichigo is stronger then Kenpachi yet still weaker then a lame noble bount. Next episode looks to be the best one of this filler. We made it guys, looks like this filler is drawing to an end

It has already been made abundantly clear that shinigami can "die" although this death probably results in their souls loosing all their memories and being reincarnated as humans. I doubt that Ichigo is ready to be reincarnated, especially since he still has a live human body.

is it me or is Kariya abit over powered?

i mean, even zaraki takes loads of damage when ichigo strikes him, but this guy is even able to stop zangetsu no problem like aizen

He's probably stronger than Aizen was(back then). I mean Ichigo was torn up when he tried to down Aizen. He was perfectly healthy facing Kariya(though not in Bankai mode...)

Besides, what did you expect from a guy who consumed hundreds of human souls?
