Team Medical Dragon

I was surprised no one started a thread on this amazing manga.... a lot of people even argued it is the best medical manga ever, and its adaptation to tv series (to be fair, more from the fiction) has sort of proved this point.

Winner of 2005 Shogakukan Manga Award in General Category, team medical dragon combines university politics, moral interrogation and hardcore medical science into a must-read analysis of medical issues in today's Japan. It is exciting, thought provocative and yet economical in the sense the author Tarō Nogizaka didnt waste a single cell to render the story in a masterful manner.

I'd say it's on par with Say Hello to Black Jack, also argubly one of the best medical mangas in terms of medical politics and medical issues. TMD touches on a slightly different aspect of medical politics, but they both have somewhat similar themes.

And while it's a great manga, it's really one of the "under-radar" series that while amazing, doesn't get the limelight it deserves. I can say the same for Le Cirque de Karakuri among others. Karakuri makes Victory and Zeta look likes a kid show while constantly displaying great action scenes, intrigueing story and superb characters.

Best medical manga? Arguble with SH to BJ. It's definetely better than Godhand Teru though.

Well, Godhand teru is so shounen it hurts. I mean, limit break operations on the open hearth are a bit overdone.

Imho SH to BJ is better, although Iiryu is also quite good

Is Medical Dragon a Bi-monthly or a monthly rls? 140 and 141 got rls around the same time in the Chinese Scanlation.

Also who is continuing with the series since the original author die back in 2004?

And why aren't more people talking more about something like this.

Noticed there's little to no activity in this thread.. This can't be possible!

This is like Japanese House MD with INCREDIBLE art! My only gripe is that the artist draws everyones' eyes so that they all look like they're psychopaths!

I've been following closely the translations since last year and guess people don't comment because chapters get released every x months? ch83 is the last one I've seen translated.

I'm in love with this manga.
Didn't know that the author died before completing the manga. A real shame.

Wonder if the quality dropped after the author's death with the new person writing it.
