Nice pace to the latest episode. Culminated in the earthquake incident at the café. The distorted expressions of the characters when they were emotionally worked up helped to add intensity (something I've not mentioned for the last few episodes), and of course, the character with the most of these was undoubtedly Emi.
She may be petty and narrow-minded in her quest to eliminate the Demon Lord, but his actions on Earth seem to have put her antagonistic feelings toward him in turmoil. The Demon Lord she knows would commit widespread destruction, but here he is attempting to save people. It's natural for her to place her suspicions on him, though I'd say she'll have to change her view on him soon enough. Another antagonist has surfaced, eh? Things are going into motion. |

A general rule of light novels:
Don't sweat the small stuff, they usually get explained in side stories, usually humorously done. In fact, it is a key fact that being light novels, they have to omit much of the mundane to write a decent story. Someone going hyper rational on a light novel is someone weighting your quarter-pound cheese burger. Just...don't... |

She would still have to buy her TV, clothes, cell phone and other stuff Quote:
ad 2) Her's however was not antique , there might have been a few dents in it from all her battles but thats it. That being said I looked up how much armor sets cost before I made the post you quoted. and the most expensive one I found was still below 5'000 USD.(Without helmet though). So yeah she may have gotten around 350 000 yen which would explain how she was able to pay several rents in advance. Then again I can only compare to european prices, after looking at amazon her TV might have cost 200 EUR less than I expected oO I won't say its impossible but looking at the whole situation very unlikely that she didn't have to use her credit card for anything.

"isn't it Maou's job to give troubles to Hero?"
that cracked me... lol!!! well, now we're getting a clear explanation about the earthquake and seems like Maou and Yuusha will be teamed up for a while at least until they go back to Ente Isla in the preview, it looks like Emi has lost her killing intent a little because of Maou's attitude change |

BTW, judging by questions posted by all the members of this thread, it looks like you haven't read the manga, which is translated and would answers some of your questions. Like the source of magic powers and such. In fact, the translated chapters and current anime episodes are nearly neck and neck, plotwise. There is even a spinoff series featuring their school life. |

Not necessarily a protagonist. Could be the main antagonist.
What I'm looking for is someone who announces himself as the Maou, reigns over demons, and is actually evil. Instead of, say, someone an evil and corrupt Church decided to paint as the enemy for no good reason and who's just trying to protect his people. Even here... The guy's actually a world conqueror. But he doesn't look very evil, so I'm starting to think he had his reasons. |

This story makes the distinction. In episode one introduction, they are different kinds. Even mentioning the story from the name's source may be some minor spoiler.
Some Christian doujinshi interpretation puts these two names as one antagonist. Later, it became a popular idea.

The Dark Lord Goes on a Date with His Colleague in Shinjuku
More funny moment intertwined with a twisted development; Emi gets more pouty and hot tempered than ever in Hero mode. But, the delight comes when we see Chiho and Emi getting ready for the best b***h catfight over misunderstanding each other's reasons to get closer to Maou. Ashiya gets more bonus point for 1) fitting Maou with the appropriate clothes for the ocassion, and 2) tailing Maou from the distance on the latter's date. Ok. Maou explains the technical aspect of the magic that enabled Chiho to hear two nights ago a strange voice; a voice coming from both Emi and Maou's world, but Chiho is able to understand the language. Mhhh..... I think Chiho would be made used by the unseen assailant in latter episodes, but for now we have grounded the root that causes the earthquakes, magic. And, it happens a big one turns at a bad timing when Maou and Chiho are dating. After the earthquake subsides, Emi and Chiho were more or less make ammends or putting themselves in a temporarily truce, but the heroine warns the gullible child not to get drawn to Maou, unless she'll suffer badly. But, guess what happens? Maou not only returns to his demonic form with all and magic, but he's actually sacrificing himself for others and taking care to have Chiho rescued, much to Emi's shock and denial. Poor hero! What's going to happen to her role as Hero, if Maou completely turns to the good side? |
