Have an attack your opponent can't block =/= 'better fighter'
Shante specifically told Vivio not to dodge or do anything about her attack other than try to block it. She's a Belkan user, which are geared toward offense. It doesn't surprise me she wouldn't be able to stop something with a lot of effort behind it. |

So, yes, Shante IS a better fighter than Vivio is.

So, hmm... That's at least two people that said that Vivio wasn't good at close-range combat. And it looks like even Vivio realizes it at the end of the chapter.

And none of those people, mind, are routinely a part of her training regiment.
I'm sorry if I'm pushing this, but I really, REALLY hate characters like this, because they're everywhere in real life. "You know, you're not any good at that anyway, why not just give up before you embarrass yourself?" |

You're saying that Vivio isn't part of her own training regiment? Wow... Edit: You seem to not know one thing about fighters in general. They can tell just how skilled someone is by looking at how they walk. Yeah, that's right, they can tell how good someone is BEFORE words or fists are exchanged.

Admittedly, neither would have been a better word to use there. And if that's the case, shouldn't Einhart have commented on this supposed flaw long before this? |

But why are people commenting on Shante as if this is the first time they've met? Shante knows Vivio for quite some time now, considering how familiar the two are with one another. Shante already knows about Vivio's fighting style, this spar was just a double check to make sure. And it's not like she told Vivio 'you suck, so just quit' she just wanted to show Vivio 'not everyone is a nice person, here's what could happen.' at most you could add an 'are you sure you want to do this?' but she didn't even got as far as that. She's just a worried friend, not a haughty bitch with a superiority complex. |

I didn't say they weren't good at defense, just devastating at that close range, and from what we've seen, generally better than the Midchildan style's shields to compensate for their often lack of projectiles. Nanoha needed to borrow their system to properly guard against attacks from them, anyway.
And that's part of what bugs me, actually. She could just tell Vivio all this stuff directly if she's so positive of it, instead of just assuming she'll interpret it that way instead of 'my friend is a little crazy'. But she doesn't, and still goes on about how 'nice' she is. It's not like adopting the same role as Corona or Lutecia would protect her from getting hurt, either - the former got a Starlight Breaker, the latter got Rocket Punched. |

Oh, of course. Nanoha got as tough as she did by training, after all. But switching to something you're better at but haven't put any training in is counter-productive, something she probably also knows. Shante seems lucky enough to enjoy something she's also talented in, and might not realize that.
