Hmm ... interesting about the Rozen Maiden dolls all not appearing again. Wonder why them as opposed to others?

I jest. I wish she had missed 2011 because that result was crushing.

Top half newcomers have a very high chance of returning: Kanade, Ruri, Eu, Yui, Yuri, Charlotte, Victorique, Kirino.

As for girls who might make a name for herself next year:
-Erio (Denpa Onna) - From the previous exhibition match, there is a sure bet they are going to be in.
-Ohana (Hanasaku Iroha) - See previous.
-Elsie and Haqua (Kaminomi) - They batter make it in next year.
-Ika-musume (Ika Musume) - see previous
-Akemi Homura (PMMM) - sadly, I think she is the only girl from her series that is going to make some noise.

Kanade vs. Mikoto final is already becoming glaringly obvious.

Results as expected. Thought we might get a bit less voters than day 1, but we got ~400-500 more. Mikoto definitely trying to one up Kanade.

I wonder if Yamada, Poplar, Dalian and Yune can make an impact next year. I don't know if I should hope much considering they couldn't pull in as many votes as the SnS inter-series fight.

Chihaya managed to pull in that many votes? Wow...maybe there are more people actually watching Chihayafuru than I thought...or maybe KS picked a good avatar for her.

No upsets in the main matches.

- Mikoto had more votes for than Kanade, but Kanade still had a higher VD. Still, they both ended up beating up their respective Hanazawa opponents by alot.

- I had a bad feeling Dalian wasn't going to get any support. Instead she won her match.

Because of public responses and voting data, two of the scheduled exhibition matches have been replaced by two new ones. You'll never know what they are though~ We don't want people to blame wontaek about those 4 characters that got tossed.

Their support diluted as the contest expanded.

The exhibition match for the quarters are very interesting. I think it's a good idea to have exhibition matches that features the characters in the latest anime season. Might be a good way to gauge their strength if they could qualify for next year.

Boo, Yune lost.

Also, it seems that I was wrong in thinking that the "newcomers" would regain some strength. Charlotte looks as weak as ever, and Kuroneko is looking dangerously underwhelming compared to Taiga.

1. I am surprised Aoi is greater than Poplar. I was sure it was the other way around. Maybe second second helped her more, or was she better all along?
2. Yune lost!? I lament; I cry; I weep. Still, Dalian looked impressive. Maybe we can see her next year?
3. No surprise here. Glad Hecate won.
4. I guess Precure has no love at an international standpoint. While Chiyaha gained a high number in vote count, I do not see her making noise next year just yet.
5. The dog defeats the cat. Was not much of a surprise here. I am quite sad however.
6. Even Rie faction cannot get her to defeat genki Yayoi. Nice victory, Yayoi.

Yeah.

Then again, to be honest I always considered Yune a little more kawaii than moe ... not to open a can of worms or anything, mind you.

In any event Eucliwood, Yune and Poplar all lost. I guess for me Poplar was the biggest surprise - guess I considered her more ... erm ... "moe" I guess.

At least Yayoi won though!

Great job by Misaka here, but that's not quite a Kanade level performance. Kanade still does a lot better on Nadeko than Charlotte and Nadeko is likely stronger and the difference increases if Charlotte continued to fall over the break. At least for now, Misaka isn't showing the level of power she had in Diamond 7. Unfortunately for Misaka, Taiga also had a fantastic performance when she wrecked Haruhi in their match. Misaka needs to watch out if she doesn't want to be taken out in Round 2 of the playoffs. Yuki and Kuroneko looked about normal out there and only did slightly better than expected against Hitagi and Eucliwood.

There is hardly much difference between the two.

kawaii is definitely a staple of being moe, I'd say. Though It's not the only requirement.

It would be rather amusing if what I think is going to happen actually happens two years in a row.
