Also, if manga counts, Griffith's outfit is the epitome of Holy Sh*t We Are So Pwned By The Coolness. I think the secret to his victories has much more to do with his sassy hawkish outfit than stuff like monsters 'n tactical genius.

The coolest one I think is Suzumebachi from BLEACH (that's Soi Fon's zanpakuto)
and Abel's scythe in Trinity Blood *-*

some other cool ones are Eve from Black Cat, since she IS a weapon XD
and Saya and Diva's blood in Blood+, it does some craazy stuff @_@ The Schiff have some pretty badass weapons themselves.

Van's sword from Gun X Sword.
It was solid like your average sword, but then he could make it all flexible and stuff. That was cool!

I also have Kenshins Reverse-Blade Sword from Rurouni Kenshin in my room. Beautiful sword.

Hmm... weapons... let's see:

(melee)
Musica's Silver - necklace becomes any silver weapon, more preferably a spear
Haru's Ten Commandments - has 10 forms, though Haru technically unlocks 9
Kenshin's reverse edge sword - nuff said
Kurapika's chains - I have a set at home and I love it
Fate's Bardiche - reminds me of Deathscythe

(ranged)
Elie's Guns Tonfa - pair of tonfas that can also fire machine gun or explosive rounds
Wolfwood's Cross - need a lot of guns?
Vash's Angel Gun - 45 caliber silver- or nickel-plated revolver goodness

(mech weapons)
Sazabi's Funnels - this started the funnel craze, I think
Dis Astranagant's Ain Soph Aur - the Infinity Cylinder
Dygenguard's Colossal Blade - the sword used by "The sword that cleaves evil!"

Souseiseki's Gardener's Shears

and (I'm not sure if this counts) the magical hammer girls in anime pull out from hammer space for comedic effect.

I think my favorite weapon just became Tsubaki the Demon Blade in Soul Eater.
Nasty whirling steel and scrumptious lady companion all-in-one.

Guns. Big guns/cannons. Anything from Alucard's twin monster pistols in Hellsing to Sanzo's revolver in Saiyuki to that huge fireworks cannon in Bleach.

My favorites weapons are Black Trick and White Joker from Scryed. I also like the orbital weapons from various Gundam animes.

Stock Market .
Spoiler for Minor Spoilers:

Truly one of the most unique and world affecting "weapons" I have ever seen in an anime. Who cares about a weapon that can blow sh*t up, when you can cause world wide panic, famine, and war simply with a forceful withdrawl from the World Bank. Not only scary, but also realistic.

Besides that, the various satelittes/asteroids that the Gundam Universe has threatened to drop on Earth are a nice consolation prize "Best" Weapon.

Well, as far as I can tell, using the stock market/economies as weapons of mass destruction is as realistic as Strike Freedom. Realistically speaking, it's a double-edged sword for anyone calculating their options. Besides, no single entity in the world controls that much of any economic asset to do massive damage AND remain immune to its effects.

Gundam's dropping of a space colony on Earth is NOT an inclusive weapon. Not by a stretch. People can and do live in those things.

Besides, a stock market attack will just return civilisation to the days before it exists. The idea's good, but reminds me that some had forgotten that fundamentally, we don't rely on money to survive.

About Vash and his gun: As long as it's not like the male lead in Black Cat, I'm fine. (Man, that kid has a history with his gun.)
