Oh wow. S2 has eight character songs. Six of them are the three heroines from S1 and the three on the opposing side pictured above. I'm not sure who the first and eighth releases will be (last time, the first one was Zwei wing), but my reaction here is the same as it would be in any circumstance.

So much new music. Oh yes.

I have to agree, a lot of awesome music is good in my mind. Looking forward to having a ton of new songs to listen to.

Somehow, I feel that Symphogear's plot will follow Nanoha footstep. (Good thing!)

I can see that all "Antagonist" will become "Friend" after get defeated.

The OP is "Vitalization" by Nana Mizuki, and the ED is "Next Destination" by Ayahi Takagaki.

I didn't like the first season...

Spoiler for My opinion:

I forced myself through the anime in hope that it would get any better... but it didn't. You can flame all you want, but I had expectations for a good action series with 2 J-Pop idols as heroes, NOT for a mediocre action series with a depressed J-Pop idol and an obnoxious schoolgirl.

Unfortunately, I think you ended up being dissapointed because you have too much expectations to look forward for this anime.

Can you blame me for that? I severely got mislead.

I see 2 ladies as poster girls for an upcoming anime series... and one of them gets killed in the first episode. Talk about getting your expectations screwed up...

I don't know, have seen series give far bigger surprises than that. Though can certainly relate to having expectations from the promotional materials and getting completely caught offguard. Probably didn't hurt me for this series because I literally knew nothing about it until the first episode aired.

Well, the animation quality definitely took a level up, though not as much as I'd like. Still, as long as the entire series can maintain this consistency, this season should rock.

Spoiler for My opinion: Replacing Kanade Amo for Hibiki Tachibana was a BAD idea... Let me just remind you of something here: Kanade was one of the poster girls, with Tsubasa, for the promotional poster, the anime's website AND the cover of the first Blu-ray disc volume, and they decided to KILL her in the first episode. You know what grind my gears even more? That Hibiki just happens to be a compatible vessel for Kanade's relic, JUST to twist the knife even more. You know would have been more tolerable? That Kanade would have survived the attack and her Swan Song (y'know, just like Tsubasa and Chris survived theirs), but her voice gets damaged in the process. Some singers can get their voice destroyed due to diseases or exhaustion that they can still talk normally, but cannot sing properly anymore. Kanade could have gotten such a problem after that. She would still help the 2nd Division Mobile Disaster Response Corps, but not on the field. Tsubasa would have been far less depressed, because y'know, Kanade would still be alive. She would still be a solo idol, but come on, Kanade would support her entirely, maybe by comforting her and even writing her new songs, be for concerts or even battles. Oh, and Tsubasa wouldn't be suicidal. Look, if they bring back Kanade as an actual character, with resurrection, for the 2nd series, that would be an improvement. Seriously, Hibiki is just annoying as all Hell. Finally, the plot is weak, the villain was obvious and the ending was disappointing.
